The store manager did a terrible job at helping me pay and check out. I had ordered a small job, a couple of days earlier, laminating a cover of a manual I owned and reattaching the cover with a new spiral binding. I'd had good success having this done at Staples twice previously, but the staff have all changed. They didn't have a ticket written up when I arrived, several hours after they'd called me to say the job was ready for pickup. As a result, I had to wait an unreasonably long time and MISSED an important appointment with a client! I was thoroughly disappointed with the lack of care and competence. Upon my arrival, when they didn't have my ticket ready and had to do some calculations to figure out how much to charge me, I notified them that I had only a few minutes available. They also made an error by charging me more for some 3-ring notebooks than the shelf price indicated. Since they used 2 different people and 2 different cash registers to charge me for those, I had to tell them 2 times of this error. The 2nd time, it was the manager, and he didn't believe me until he took more time to saunter over to the shelf to verify the price. He saw I was right and finally charged me accordingly. After I was finally able to pay and leave, when I arrived at my destination, I noticed that he had never given me the ticket for the lamination job, there was just a random price with "sku not found" on my receipt. It’s falling apart, buckets of water everywhere, bathrooms don’t have toilet paper, employees couldn’t care less if they tried, etc. I ordered some prints and the website suggested they wouldn’t be done until 7:30pm, so I PAID extra for the express pickup which would be done by 1:30 that day. 2:00 rolls around and I still don’t have a confirmation. I try to call, but it rings and rings and no one answers. I went to the store and the man in the print area was so disinterested. I told him I’d paid for the express but still hadn’t received confirmation. He just walks away wordlessly to his computer and starts printing my documents. He tells me to sign this piece of paper that says we’d gone over my prints together (which I hadn’t even seen yet) and he didn’t even have a pen on the desk. I thanked him for my documents and asked if I’d get my money back for the express since it wasn’t actually done at the time they said it would be, and he said “yeah I guess.” I stood there waiting and he told me “you don’t need to wait, go.” I was so frustrated, I just left. I have a mailbox with them through iPostal and have been trying to get in touch regarding missing mail (which usually means it is sitting on the counter waiting to be sorted), and mail that I requested to be forwarded weeks ago. I cannot get a person on the phone - for the 4th time in a week I have been on hold for 20+ minutes waiting for someone to answer. I have reached out to iPostal who has also confirmed they have yet to hear back from the Staples point of contact.
They are mishandling mail, including time sensitive election ballots. Clearly someone cares enough to respond to online reviews, but not enough to resolve basic requests to forward mail.
