Really cute establishment. No food sold here. Only custom drinks. It's adorable but pricey here. Plan for that. And to wait for an hour before you get to play with the cats. They let groups go in every hour. You should call ahead. I don't think they take reservations to book in advance. Nor is it only your party going back after the hour's long wait, know that too. I'm autistic and went to bring my kids. I was expecting and under the impression from the workers that we would be the only family back there. Nope. It felt awkward and immediately infringed on our ability to relax, be amongst eachother and the cats. And ps for any non-cat people out there, unless you are relaxed, the cats won't come to you. The also like to hide under all the couches. Pro tip, and you're welcome. Lol the drinks are tasty but pricey. But honestly it all is. I easily dropped over $200 for 2 adults and 3 kids. The redeeming factor with that, other than the cuteness overload of the kitties, is that all the proceeds go towards their cost to feed/provide vet care for/get the cats ready for adoption (which is another $100). Overall, cute niche place to sip a drink and pet a cat. But my wallet says this excursion will need to take a back seat, not a repeat. Family loved it. It's a cute and LBTQ+ inclusive/safe place. It's mostly about the long wait, high costs and lack of ensuring one party at a time to go back that did me in. But what a great service they provide to the community and I would still recommend to others, especially if you've never been to a cat cafe. Worth the initial trip. I'm skipping the second...
Read moreI lived in Tallahassee for 25 years and shared a home with cats for the majority of that time, and after moving out that particular year, I heard about a new cat cafe opening up nearby.
"Just to look," I told my then-boyfriend (now husband). "Just to look at them."
We fell in love with this sleepy little tortoiseshell (then Edamame, since renamed Elora) curled up in the corner, and she's just been a dream. We somehow even managed to teach her tricks like sit, shake, up, fetch, and roll over, she's a ferocious cuddler, loves sitting in the shower with you (???), and has a peculiar affinity toward adhesives - which we must hide, lest they be consumed.
It's been five years since we adopted her but I still remember the adoption process being smooth, quick, and painless, apart from her initial refusal to interrupt her nap atop the AC unit to come home with us. The staff were kind and helpful as well, and we thoroughly enjoyed the coffee.
She's perfect. Tally Cat Cafe is great. Their cats are top-tier. 11/10. Even though we live in Colorado now, I'd go back.
Elora's somehow going to be six years old soon and I can't handle it.
P.S. We even recently adopted her a little brother from a cat cafe out here in Boulder, CO - his name is Merlin, and she likes to gently choke him...
Read moreThe tally cat cafe is the first of its kind in the city and is done very well. The coffee is made in house or sourced through lucky goat, a very popular, well made, and local coffee brewery. Pastries are also sourced locally through tasty pastry, so purchasing from this business ensures all money stays local. The business is clean and well maintained, with a lot of cute cat themed motifs throughout and cat themed drinks. The eating area and cat areas are separated and you can go inside the cat area for an hour which costs $7. If you decide not to go into the cat area, you can still watch the cats and patrons through the glass window. The money helps maintain the cats food, vet expenses, and toys. The cats are placed from either the local humane society, or rescued from high kill shelters and are all available for adoption if you fall in love with one. They have a separate area for the cats when they want privacy as well as a beautifully made playroom for them that you interact with. Overall it is a great place to relax, have a coffee, and...
