Unfortunately I have to give this IHOP location in Tallahassee, FL a 1 star because it was a horrid visit, but the food was edible even though it was not enjoyable. We started our visit with quite a few people waiting to be sat. We were quoted a 25 minute wait time and the wait time was a little longer at 35 minutes. That wasn't a problem as we expected a wait due to the amount of people, but we did see multiple families leave before us because they were tired of waiting and that likely boosted our wait time otherwise it may have been 45 minutes or longer. Once we were sat and ordered, our server was either new or needs to be trained better because quite a few things were not done well at all in our section and we even witnessed the table next to us raise holy hell and the manager came and gave them a significant discount on their check. Their complaints were the food was cold, they had to wait over an hour for their food and this was the worst experience at an IHOP they have ever had. (I agree with that statement by the way.) Also right after that a couple just received their omelets and after tasting them got up and left. (So they were not happy either.) The manager then went to the kitchen where we and others heard her get onto the kitchen. So after witnessing that and after we placed our food order it took over 45 minutes to get our food and both my wife and my omelet was made incorrectly. I don't eat vegetables so they had to go back and make mine again, but my wife isn't as picky so she dealt with the mistake on hers and ate it anyways. The server left to take my plate back to the kitchen and guess what; she never brought our table silverware, salt, pepper, or syrup. So my two kids and wife sat and looked at their food between 5 to 10 minutes until our server decided to show up again to tell her about these missing things. So about 15 minutes later they brought my "fixed" omelet, but it still wasn't very warm. Then it was about 5 minutes after that when they finally brought my wife her side of pancakes. We chose not to make a scene, ate the cold to lukewarm food, paid our bill and left. We will not return and do not recommend this IHOP at this time. I believe most of our issues were with our server as other areas seem to be doing fine and being taken care of better. My son even said, “they should call this place IHOPAWAY”, which I found funny. The irony of it all was when my wife pointed out the sign on the wall across the room that said Smiles...
Read moreWorst experience I have ever had at any restaurant in the entire world. My wife and I took our two year old for breakfast this Sunday morning. I originally did not want to go but she convinced me because apparently they have a whole new menu. Upon arrival we were seated in less than a few minutes. Once seated we were told the waitress will be coming by to take a drink order shortly. I guess shortly means 15 minutes. When she finally got to our table we had already decided what we were having so we went ahead and placed our order. Keep in mind the restaurant was not even busy. There were empty tables scattered throughout the restaurant which should have been a sign but I disregarded it. An IHOP on Sunday should not have empty tables. It took an unusually long time to get our food based on the low volume of people in the restaurant. I ordered Blueberry Pancakes, Turkey Bacon, Hashbrowns, and scrambled eggs dry. My wife ordered something else that I cannot recall. We ordered french toast and fruit for our toddler. Our son loves fruit. My son did not receive french toast. He received basic pancakes and fruit. Quit frankly I could have cared less about his order being messed up as long as he ate it. Getting a toddler to eat something in a restaurant is a challenge. He did not like his fruit at all. My son loves fruit but spit this fruit out on the plate. I had whipped cream on my pancakes. I also received pork bacon instead of turkey bacon. When I confronted the waitress about the mistake she said it was turkey bacon. Another problem was the fact their were zero napkins available at the table. If you do not provide napkins at the table you should at least give extra napkins to families who have children. This is a golden rule when serving families with children. Children make messes. We have to have napkins to clean up after them as well as to clean them with. I spoke to the manager afterwards and told her all of the problems we had. She also mentioned that I did receive pork bacon instead of turkey bacon further confirming it was in fact pork. The waitress lied to me. Thank G-d I did not eat it. I knew the waitress was lying. We will not be returning to this location.
I can eat oven baked fecal matter with a smile if I have great service. If the service is terrible, there is no reason we should eat...
Read moreAlways come to this IHOP after my Dr appts in Tallahassee FL the time I usually get there it never crowded or busy and I always order a 5 stack of pancakes. They are always made fresh and hot when I get them, it's never crowded or full when I go, which usually after 1pm which I like because its a nice quiet place at that time food is always made when you order it and always fresh and hot and made after you order not ahead of time service from waitress/waiters is always great and pleasant as they are very nice and courteous and do exactly what they should in a manner that is very satisfying to me I always leave at least 4-5 bucks for a tip because the service and atmosphere are so great. When I go I like to visit this particular store because I enjoy the peace and quiet while I eat and they have great attitudes and are very well mannered and always tend to me as I expect, like keeping my tea refilled at all times making sure I'm satisfied at least twice or are concerned if I were to have an issue I believe they would tend to it as they do everything else with professional approach and a good demeanor and the most important thing good service and attention to me as a customer individually I appreciate very much and will continue to be a customer as long as it is like this. unless it happens to start to decline in aspects that are important to me, I will remain a faithful customer to that location on my Tallahassee Dr days which isn't often but has become a treat to myself when I go. if I could give 10 stars for excellence I would. they are just that good there and I can tell you that at most restraunts I go to regularly don't even come close to being able to be compared here and I normally wind up leaving a 2or 3 dollar tip instead of 5 or more bucks because they don't give the customer service skills that this particular restaurant has I give it a full 5 stars and highly recommend this particular restaurant to anyone wanting a good great atmosphere, customer service, attitude and overall customer service that...
