review update * Chryssa the owner called and was SO kind and helpful and beautiful. She offered to make it right. So amazing and my faith and love for Frenchies is restored. I’ve updated my rating.
I’ve been a loyal client of Frenchies for over 3 years going to Trey who was an incredible and professional nail tech. He always went above and beyond and I was sad he was no longer available but I trusted being assigned to anyone else at frenchies it would be the same level of care.
The elevated experience of a nail salon is what drew me in and made me come back and recommend TONS of friends and strangers to Frenchies.
Another feature I enjoyed as a business owner was how precise you were on the timing of services allowing me to schedule my time and feel as though it was respected.
Today was by far the WORST and most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had at Frenchies and I do not plan on returning.
My tech was Antasia and I booked for a gel x removal and manicure with nail art and polish change on my toes. Same service as always.
It took a full HOUR and 15 minutes to remove my gel x. Never in all of my years has it taken that long. It was the same products that you use, so the possibility of it being that long because it’s some unknown product is not the case.
The woman was just SLOW and spacey. She was very kind, but also had this air of “whatever” about her.
90 minutes into the service she flatly says - without empathy, apology nor offer of solution - “I can’t do your nails as you wanted so you’ll have to pick another color”
I ask if there was any other option and it was a no to all requests. I felt uncared for and completely disrespected.
In the midst of this now sudden shift, Antasia proceeds to have conversations with the tech next to her stopping to be in conversation, staring off into space intermittently and I had to alert her to the cure lamp light going off so she could do the next cure for my nails.
She proceeds to finish my nails which do not look great. There are bumps in the polish, I have polish and the gel on my fingers and the nails are not properly filed and gave ridges and edges. And she makes NO mention of the polish change on my toes. She simply says “have a nice night”.
As far as I’m concerned that’s a broken contract and absolutely not on par with the level of service that Frenchies was always known to me for.
Manager Kayla did come to speak with me when I shared my concerns with the front desk person. That was helpful and she offered a discount for me to return. I don’t know that I feel thrilled...
Read moreIn summary, my experience with the nail technician at the salon was regrettably disappointing. Despite informing them about my delay and them informing me they could push my appointment forward 15 minutes, I felt rushed throughout the appointment. The technician failed to inform me about alternatives to gel polish until the end and suggested cutting my nails shorter without informing me about other options giving me the ability to schedule myself in with someone who could fulfill what I wanted. She also didn't have time to give me a proper French tip or correctly address my cuticles and instead gave me a quick line due to her shift being up. Additionally, I wasn't offered anything to drink, and overall, the treatment did not at all meet my expectations for the salon's pricing, not even close. I’ll spare her name for the sake of being kind and hoping it was a one time ordeal 🤷🏻♀️ but I doubt it. For reference, I attached the photo of what I showed them I wanted at the beginning, compared to what I received.
UPDATE They contacted me and scheduled me in to fix my nails. I still did not get the extensions due to there not being enough time at the time that we set the appointment for the day prior, so I would say, ensure that if you go here you make sure to tell them very clearly what it is that you want if it’s a lengthier appointment and then DOUBLE ensure they have the time. I ended up leaving satisfied with the results, but was still not offered any beverages and the lady next to me was given a tour and offered drinks which leaves me just so confused. I don’t understand the variation in hospitality with guests. I added a photo of what was done the second time, and it’s moons away from the first and for that I’m grateful. For reference, the middle picture is what I wanted, the first picture was what I originally received, the last picture is the...
Read moreI wish I could give this salon zero stars—unfortunately, one is the lowest I can go. After six months of regular visits with the technician Bryn, I really wanted to love this place. Initially, everything was fantastic: great service and quality products. But then, things took a nosedive.
It all started with the first mishap appointment when I received a text just 30 minutes before I was supposed to arrive, letting me know that Bryn was no longer available and I’d be booked with someone else. I thought, "Okay, that happens." But when I arrived, I waited 15 minutes only to find out that the second technician was already booked too!
This pattern continued—on several occasions, I got phone calls saying Bryn was unavailable again. Each time, I’d ask to rebook with her, only to learn she was booked out for two weeks. The day of the third mishap appointment, I noticed the appointment vanished from the Frenchies mobile app. I received a called from the salon that morning, they insisted I hadn’t arrived on time. I explained my confusion due to the booking disappearing, but the representative became argumentative and dismissive. I asked to speak with a manager or the owner to address the ongoing issues, and she practically told me to take my business elsewhere!
I’m not sure if it’s just a problem with this specific technician—who also claims to be the manager—or if it’s a broader staffing issue. What I do know is that this salon does not value its clients’ time and the staff can be downright rude. There are countless high-end nail salons in Tampa that treat their customers with respect and provide excellent service. I ended up choosing this one for its proximity to home, but I’ve learned my lesson. If you want to be treated well and receive premium service, steer clear of this place! You'll leave feeling disrespected...
