I booked this venue under the impression of how they sold the venue. I explained to them I planned on having a baby shower with up to 50 people. When I did the walk through the venue was beautiful but to fit the rustic glam vibe I was going for I mentioned to the only things I would want in the room were the reception desk and the barrels - they reassured me sure we can take out anything you like. They made me pay in full and sign a contract that day. About a month later I tried to coordinate things with the event coordinator she was late replying to emails. After emailing multiple times the owner reached out and said she is no longer working with them and he will be handling things from that point, he then tries to ask me what I owe to pay them, I said I already paid in full. I asked about the vendors he worked with in order to book linen and chairs, he said he would ask them for me and after days not hearing back I wrote him again asking about it he says he’s waiting on a response at that point it’s been about 4-5 days not sure what vendor doesn’t respond promptly within that time.So I just told him I would handle myself. I spoke to him another time after that he asked me about paying my balance once again and I told him I had already paid in full. He added if I went over my time of 5pm for the baby shower that I would be charged. Mind you when I booked the venue they stated that regardless they can’t book the two events in one day so I have the whole day reguardless. Even though we had no intention of going over that time I told him he didn’t say this when I booked the event that’s not what I was told he said it stated it in the contract when I read over the contract several times no where did it say this! Why would you start to add all these false stimulations later. The day before my baby shower he called me I told him once again I want nothing in the room but barrels and reception desk he said not a problem. Fast forward to day of event the balloon lady was there with my friend couldn’t set up in the area I wanted because there was a Sofia In the way. I was extremely confused because I already had expressed I didn’t want anything in there. Sure enough when I arrived there was barely nothing taken out and when I asked for certain things to be moved he acted like it was an issue and said I didn’t say anything about any other furniture. I didn’t know I had to name every piece I wanted out when I’ve only been to venue once I thought the word “everything except “ was enough. The venue itself is beautiful, and the art but like I said it just didn’t go with my shower theme so I didn’t want it in the room. The owner is nice but after dealing with all the miscommunication when there was no need for it I would not book this venue again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Even with the amount I paid I feel like it was a lot when it didn’t include chairs or linen that I wanted. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars instead of 3 is because the venue does have furniture and props he lets you use. My advice would be to hire another event coordinator that is responsive and remembers...
Read moreWe held our work function at the Red Door No. 5 last night. From the first time I spoke with Dominique on the phone a week ago to the end of our event last night, everything was perfect. Dominique is amazing to work with, helping me to plan and organize our event at his venue, not to mention, Dominique owns Rustic Steele and has his art displayed throughout, which is amazing. The atmosphere is very eclectic and has such an artsy vibe to it. Our group of 42, plus the 4 actors for our Murder Mystery had ample room. Dominique handled everything for us, except the catering which we brought in our own chef. He could have hired his caterer but we wanted ours to do this event. The venue is also equipped with a full kitchen. Even our caterer/Chef was impressed with the venue and said it made catering our event that much easier for him. Since our caterer did not have a liquor license, Dominique took care of hiring two bartenders for us, Emily and Kaylie to serve the alcohol. BOTH AMAZING and took care of our group. In addition, Dominique handled the table rentals, both low tops (dinner) and high tops (cocktail hour) along with the linens. We used his chairs that he had on the property to help keep costs down (at his suggestion). He had two employees that cleaned, set up and took care of any issues (none that came up) throughout the night. Everyone loved the venue and kept telling me we need to do more events there. We rented out the entire venue and was well worth it. Dominique was amazing to work with and very accomodating. We was hands on before, during and after the event to ensure everything was perfect and to our satisfaction. Oh, he also went the extra mile and put in red lights throughout to set the mood for our murder mystery dinner. PERFECT in every way!! I would HIGHLY recommend Red Door No. 5 without reservation for your next event from the most elegant to the very casual setting. Oh, and when you rent the inside (three room options or the whole shabang), you get the outside patio too. Unfortunately, it was a hot day so everyone stayed inside. I cannot wait for another company event to plan because I want to rent out the Red Door No. 5 again. Thanks Dominique for a wonderful experience last night! See...
Read moreTouring Red Door for our upcoming event. Honestly, I never knew a place like this even existed in Tampa. Red Door came highly recommended to me by a friend who just had her event there. Set up an appointment to tour the facility, was greeted by the owner, Dominique. Very informative, was able to answer all of our questions on all the tiny details regarding the space. During our tour I was clearly able to see that this is a totally immersive experience, the DECOR, just like Dominique stated that the furnishings come from all over the world. Nothing is from IKEA, Rooms To Go, or Havertys. Does not feel like an event space at all, immediately felt comfortable with the vibe, the charm, the garden named Avatar, the patio, extremely unique in its own right. You can clearly see the 10 years of hard work in renovating this Historical building to where it's at today. We have visited many venues for our upcoming event, but never seen anything like this. Both my husband and I decided to book it immediately, as we felt it was the perfect choice in comparing what we have already toured. KUDOS to all who are involved in putting this staple together, adding incredible value to the community GREAT JOB. Highly recommend...
