I had my pool equipment "refreshed" three years ago by another company. After their refresh it never really worked right and they left the configuration clunky and not set up correctly. The pump was so loud, you could tell it was struggling to pump enough water. It was so poorly configured that clicking the wrong button would drain the hot tub. The valves were poorly done, etc. I finally got sick of it and contacted them again to redo it. They couldn't even look at it for 6 weeks. I called this pinch a penny and the owner of the store was out the same day to look at my setup. In detail, he went over with me every issue I had (and some I wasn't aware of) and what needed done to fix them. I signed off on the quote and they were there four days later to do the work. It wasn't cheap, but it works perfectly. They replumbed everything that was causing an issue and put new controls on it so everything works perfectly. My experience with pool companies in the area had my expectations low going into this, but they really impressed me. Not that it matters, but the equipment area is even cleaned up. It looks professional. They didn't cut corners and everything was done so well. My pool pump is about 1/3rd as loud and the flow is about double what it was. Lastly, all the functions work the way they are supposed to. I can't reccomend THIS pinch a...
Read moreAfter being referred to this store by the pinch a penny that I normally use. I called at the beginning of the month for an estimate on resurfacing and decking. It was initially scheduled for 5/3 and on 5/2 we rescheduled due the person who is doing the estimate was out sick- which is fine. But that’s two phone calls I’ve had going over what I need done and where my house is located. We agreed to reschedule to today, 5/17. I received a message this morning confirming the appointment for today. I called Lee back and confirmed and said I’m available all day so if they want to come early they can. The appointment was made for 1pm. At 12:45, 15 min before the appointment I was called by someone that informed me I lived too far and was in another territory. After I informed him that my local store does not do resurfacing and they guided me to the South Tampa store. He seemed very confused as to why they would do that and it’s very far for them. My house is 13 miles away…. It’s not that far. The person I was speaking with informed me they would talk to the GM call me back. Guess what, no call back was made. If my house that’s 13 miles from the store is such an issue for the only pinch a penny in the area that offers resurfacing, why wasn’t it...
Read moreDon’t shop here- take your money someplace else. I went in the store today to have my water tested and to buy a new pool vacuum and when I asked for their return policy the new owners, a husband and wife team said I couldn’t return it if it was opened. So I asked for a print out of their return policy and the cashier pulled out a piece of their pinch a penny receipt paper and read the policy which stated you could return opened items but would be required to pay a restocking fee. The female owner said NO I couldn’t return it though if it was opened at all and that their return policy for pool vacuums was different- so I asked for a copy of their pool vacuum return policy and neither of them could produce it. The male owner said yes on the receipt tape policy, then she said no, then he said no, which was very confusing so I gave up asking and I just left the vacuum there and walked out. Good way to lose a customer is to give two or three different answers and not honor the only written return policy you can provide at the store. Take your business somewhere else friends, these new owners don’t want it and their customer service...
