This is a nice hotel. It's fairly new (2-3 yrs old) & located near I 275 & McDill AFB.
The surfaces & bathrooms were clean. Wood polish had been sprayed on the furniture, but not wiped. I travel prepared with cleaning rags & wiped it up. The carpet wasn't really well vacuumed & felt a little grimy on bare feet. It needs to be cleaned.
Bed - I had a king room. The sheets were white & very clean. Pillows were great (plush & soft the way I like them). Mattress is wonderful. I could've stayed in bed all day.
Bathroom - It was clean, but there were water spots on the very large glass shower. The shower also leaked around the door - had to put a towel down to soak it up. There also is no fan. Lots of counter space. Hair dryer is provided. Towels were clean, but rough.
The AC was very cold which is good because it is very hot & humid here in July! Control is on the wall.
There is a large LG t.v with Direct t.v. including HBO/Max channels. There is also a desk and chair and another decorative chair. There are 3 lamps with plugs in the base. Iron & board provided in the closet/storage area. The storage area also has a nice, wide drawer to store things in. There is also a full length wall mirror, a microwave & fridge. There was no safe provided.
The room is well insulated from outside & surrounding room noises. Hot breakfast is included, but I didn't eat it so don't know how it tastes. There's a waffle machine with toppings.
Common areas were very clean. Parking lot had nice wide spaces. You can enter hotel from front and on both sides. Key card needed for side doors all hours & front doors from 10 pm to 7 am.
It was a great stay, liked it so much, I extended my stay. It is very nice for the level of hotel it is. I would recommend & stay again!
The young lady at the front desk, night shift July 20-22 was wonderful. She's great &...
Read moreConveniently located within 10 minutes of MacDill AFB. The first impression was made by the very welcoming staff at the front desk. She had a warm smile and welcoming personality, called me by my name as if she was expecting me, and answered all questions as well as as fielded all requests. She was informative about the in and outs of the hotel and amenities.
The hotel appeared very cleaned, not only on the room, but common areas as well. A noise policy was prominently hung near elevators.
The location offers breakfast starting at 6am, which works great for those with early appointments. The staff at the kitchen was very welcoming and friendly as well. The breakfast was more or less typical in what it offered and the quality. Bisquits, gravy, waffles, bacon, coffee, etc.
There's a gym in the premises and guests have access to it 24 hours a day. Security protocols at the place requires keycard access at night, or for the staff to let you in.
The rooms are spacious, the accommodations are confortable. Although it felt that adjusting the temperature didn't do much. I did like the curtains set up, which is unusual. They blocked sunlights more than usual, which is good. There's a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, desk, plenty of electrical outlets. The bathroom was spacious and it offered normal amenities, as well as other amenities downstairs if you forgotten something.
The neighborhood isn't exactly great at night. Some sketchy places, adult workers on some corners and gas stations, and some individuals suspiciously standing around with nothing to do near flea motels, bus stops, and gas stations. I recommend sticking to the bigger stations if you...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights upon checkout I was charged a fee of $250 for smoking in the room. I called the hotel to ask why I had been charged the fee and they said my room smelled like smoke. I explained to them both myself and my husband are smokers. We slept in the bed for 4 nights of course they smell like smoke! I asked if there were any ashes or burnt cigarettes/cigars found. If the smoke detector had gone off or if anyone had reported smelling smoke during our stay? To which everything was answered no. I also stated if they ran their outdoor cameras back they would see that both myself and my husband are at the farthest point of the parking lot smoking numerous times of our stay. We stay in hotels all over we are aware of smoking fees and no one way in heck would I just throw out $250 to smoke inside. I asked for the manager to call me back on two different occasions and neither time has a manager reached out to me. On top of the smoking charge this hotel was a hot mess. They over booked it. I arrived and my reservation was no where to be found. Jonathan took a room key off another person's check in papers and gave them to me. Also the check in papers with people's personal information were all over the front desk for just anyone to see. There were police at the hotel every single day of our stay. You have to ask for fresh towels...4 night stay and expected to just keep reusing towels the whole time. Gross! Horrible...
