Tawas City Shoreline Park — Attraction in Tawas City

With the high water levels this year much of the beach is nonexistent, but there is still some beach to enjoy as well as the park area with restrooms, footbath, pavilion and walking paths. The south side of the pier had the best swim area with a sandy bottom as far as you could go. The water, for the 1st part of July, was a very comfortable temperature for swimming. Near my hometown of Alpena, I stop here every summer on my way from visiting my family, heading back to where I now live in Belleville. Always like this park. A few weeks ago, we brought a friend's daughter up north for the first time. She loved stopping at this park and liked there being a food place ( Tony's Taco's). I liked it it was okay I wouldn't exactly call it a five-star feature or anything like that I mean there was construction going on that you can see which whatever I guess but the water is nice they had a pretty nice looking little playground there for the kids there were public restrooms and there was a taco stand close by so I mean I could almost give it five stars I didn't like it but the beach is only Worthy...
