Tawas Bay Laundromat — Local services in Tawas City

I've come here a few times now. I didn't previously have anything to compare it to (usually do laundry at home but my washer broke about 2 months ago). Now that I've been to a few other places as well, I figured I'd leave a review. This place is not the cleanest. I still use it from time to time, depending on my plans for the day. But I prefer to go elsewhere. In the local area, the laundromat on f41 in Oscoda is much better. I've never seen an employee here. I've never seen anything be cleaned, even the floors. There is a bathroom, but it's equal to or worse than an outside porta-potty. There are ants all over the floor. I'm not sure if all of the dryers work. Some dry really good, some take way longer and the clothes still come out damp. I didn't expect...

I come to Tawas twice a year for vacation and use this laundromat. Last time I came I gave it a really good review. Things change. They did not fix the bathroom and it’s locked. I did a cold water load of laundry and hit cold water made sure the green light was on where it said cold water and when I went to take them out they were steaming. I’m assuming if they shrink I can’t do anything about it but they probably will. On top of everything else they have a television in there which I thought was great and some nice chairs but when I sat to Watch it was all paid programming and ads. The owner Bob is retired from a career doing home remodeling, I believe. When I met him to get my quarters back, he was helpful. The location is convenient and fairly clean, and being open from 7 am to 7 pm is great. I am only giving 2 stars because many of their washing machines don't hardly fill, even though I tried putting fewer cloths in each machine. Every time I go, at least 45 percent of the time, my clothes come out of the washing machines half dry and not clean. Also, I lose money on dryers that don't work. The owner will reimburse you, if you can catch him on site. There doesn't appear to be a phone number you can call when the machines eat...
