Backstory: Every year I turned another year older, my paternal grandmother would add either a diamond or an amethyst to a bracelet she was making for my 21st birthday. So when I turned 21 I would be able to wear this bracelet to remember her by. She was very into birthstones and amethysts were our birthstones since we both were born in February. The diamonds are obvious, they are gorgeous. However, their main purpose was for my dad because it’s his gemstone. Well, when I turned 21 she had dementia. She wasn’t happy that my wrist was too small, and ultimately wanted to keep the bracelet. She passed a few years ago, and I have been waiting for the right time to have this bracelet corrected.
Issues: Bracelet was too large for my wrist, the stones were off center in the channel that was made for them, and the stones were not set at the same depth in the channel itself. Horrible craftsmanship to say the least about it.
Review: Mr. Bland and his team out did themselves. They fixed all the issues and even repaired the locking mechanism that failed. It wasn’t cheap and I knew it wouldn’t be. They had to take apart the entire bracelet, melt and weld the gold, reset stones, the lost goes on. However, I would do it again in a heartbeat. So much time, effort, and care went into my grandmother’s piece. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. I mean look at the photos!!!
I love being able to support a local jeweler who is a second generation jeweler in the area. Such welcoming and heartwarming people. I will ABSOLUTELY...
Read moreI was in the store and saw a Rolex I was interested in. The man in the store said I would have to talk to his uncle about it. He called his uncle and I spoke with him and he said that he would be there the next day and could show the mechanism and he would call the owner (consignment) and find out the best price. The next day I went back at 9:30 like I said I would. He spent 20 minutes looking for the tool he said he would need to take the back off. Said he couldn’t find it but it was in his other store in Georgetown. I asked what the owner said about the price. He went in the back and made a call. Then came back and said the owner was going to call him back and he would call me back in 30 minutes. He never called me back. For someone who had cash on hand they sure make it hard to buy something. I was a customer of Mr Bland for 30 years and was always very satisfied. Unfortunately, the new owner is unreliable at best and...
Read moreHorrible. Terrible. Awful. Incompetent. If you do business here, supervise them closely and carefully lest you get robbed. October 2024 I brought four citizen Eco Drive watches in for various repairs. I work two jobs, one of them is a 90 hour eight day week, the other week is 45 hours. I was told somebody would call me with an estimate. Nobody called, & I forgot until last week (August 2025). I went to get my watches; a woman browsed through a tray with plastic packages with watches but none of mine could be found. Amen who appeared to be the jeweler seemed to remember my watches, remarking that one of them had come in for a crystal replacement. I've long since mislaid the receipt, but when I do find it we're going to have another conversation, perhaps with legal...
