Update: We have now (I think) reached "regulars" status in less than a month. I cannot express to you how darn good this place is. Everytime I think it won't be as good as last time, I'm right... it's ALWAYS better. I'm not sure what they did differently with the fried rice that comes with the meal, but oh my golly was it next level tonight. What ever you did, keep doing that! We have to date tried, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Chicken Lomain, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoons, Jasmine Rice, General Tso's Chicken, General Tso's Shrimp, Ginger Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan & Egg Foo Young. We just left there & were already planning out next visit.
Warmly greeted & seated right away. I was impressed with the dining area. Very clean, beautifully decorated & romantic. This was our 1st visit. After 1 1/2 years in the Taylor area, we didn't even know this place existed, which is sad. We were missing out. This was my husband's 1st Chinese experience that wasn't a buffet. His idea was he wouldn't get enough food non buffet. Anyone that's ever been to an authentic Chinese restaurant knows this is a misconception. Huge menu selection. We ordered the bbq pork fried rice, egg rolls, crab rangoons,General Tso's Chicken & Chicken MooGoo Gai Pan, and both came with Jasmine rice. Yes, that was a ton of food, but we wanted leftovers. Boy, did we have leftovers. Did we know it would 3 days of leftovers, nope. Everything arrived in an appitizer to main meal order, as it should. The portions are huge. All food was very heat hot. Flavor rivals any Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. This is not mass-produced "buffet" food. This is made to order plated food. The staff is mostly family to the owners. We know this because several of them came to our table to visit & they genuinely wanted to know how our experience at Correa has been. If you are looking for authentic flavor, a traditional large menu to select from, hot food, & some of the nicest people in Taylor... this is your place. We will now be regulars & look forward to giving them our business. Don't drive past or judge the book by the cover. Pull into the parking lot & go in. This place is a diamond waiting to be found. You can place orders to go over the phone also. I would ignore any less than 4 star reviews. I can't imagine the owners or staff would give you subpar service or food.
*Only issue: our table could have used a match book under the leg. It was pretty wonky. I'd bet by the time they read this & we go back,...
Read moreWe stopped in for supper Saturday night. The reviews looked good and this looked like the best Chinese restaurant option in Taylor. Servers were nice and reasonably attentive. The place seems larger on the inside. We started off with hot and sour soup. It was hot and it was 'good'. We tried the crispy egg noodle chicken for our entree, with an order of fried rice to share as a side. The presentation of the dish was interesting. The noodles resembled a bird's nest at the edge of the plate, surrounding the actual stir fried entree in the center. I'm glad we got the rice as a side dish as the noodles didn't really soak up the sauce. The noodles were apparently quite long and those that were exposed to the sauce of the entree were rubbery and kind of difficult to cut or break off when getting a bite. Shorter noodles would have been better. The sauce/gravy was good and hot for a chilly evening, but also a bit bland or non-descript. There was a decent mixture of ingredients in the entree however it seemed a bit short on the actual pieces of chicken, and a rice option to replace the noodles might be nice.
Our bill, for 2 people before tip, was right at $53, which seemed high.
Overall impression is "good", but not great. Still better than the other local...
Read moreSo have had bad experiences with Correa from day one with being told or food would be ready at a certain time and it exceeding that time by over an hour and then we couldn’t wait any longer so we had to cancel and it didn’t seem to bother them that much. So when things calmed down we tried again a few weeks back and they did just ok on time (still was about 45 min longer the. We were told) but when we got home there was no sauce for our sweet and sour chicken. Food was better then the other Chinese food place that’s for sure. So last night we gave them one more shot. This time the food came out in a better time. However, again no sweet and sour sauce. Then I realized that the sesame chicken was such a disappointment. It have pieces of burnt chicken (couldn’t see it cause of the sauce but whoever cooked it knew) they mixed it with pieces that weren’t burnt and covered in sauce. I had already called once and wasn’t gonna do it again. Especially since they tried to cover up the burnt chicken and giving it to me anyways. I posted this on Facebook and the restaurant would react with a “Like” to comments that would say boo hoo as if I was crying but wouldn’t reach out to me to make things right. Terrible...
