The food was amazing, fresh, and flavorful. I would highly recommend the spicy pork, bulgogi, and the dumplings appetizer. The interior is modern and upscale with tasteful decoration and a clean welcoming atmosphere. The menu offers variety for more traditional Korean cuisine while also having a few more approachable dishes. I would say the only issue with my visit was the service. Perhaps they are just inexperienced, or short handed. The staff took a while to take our order despite the restaurant being nearly empty, to be fair we did ask for time to look at the menu but when I have a closed menu in front of me it should be an indicator I am done looking at it. The appetizer never came as an appetizer and was delivered with the main dish. Staff never returned to ask if the order was correct, enjoyable, or to refill our drinks. I told the server we were done and would like the check and they never returned with the bill. I had to ask a different employee to bring me the check. Again aside from the lapse in service everything was excellent and the staff was friendly and definitely not rude. I believe there just may be an opportunity for improvement or additional training as the staff working the front of house...
Read moreI am so glad we finally stopped in for dinner in the small but cute spot in Taylor. They specialize in Korean inspired comfort food with a good menu selection to cover all types of consumers. It is located in the Old Taylor High School complex and has a nice, upscale feel with excellent food. The staff is so friendly and happy to make suggestions. We shared the Korean Bulgogi and Curry chicken cutlet. Both dishes come with a wonderful salad, light and so fresh and marinated green beans - so good! The bulgogi was very tender with some good flavor, although, it could have been more spicy. The Curry Chicken was excellent with tons of flavor. It is hard to curate a successful wine list and the owner has done a great job picking some affordable and more expensive options from fine producers without the grocery store feel. I think this could be the best restaurant in Taylor!! We will...
Read moreWe were so excited to hear that a Korean restaurant opened up nearby and had to try it. We got the Bulgogi Kimbap (불고기 김밥) and Tteokbokki (떡볶이), and they both were delicious! They didn’t short out on the bulgogi in the kimbap and the rice wasn’t dry. The rice cake in the tteokbokki wasn’t over cooked and was chewy and tender (a lot of places that serve tteokbokki overcook their rice cake). The sauce was unique that it didn’t taste like the street food tteokbokki that you could get in Korea (but in a really good way) but rather homemade.
You can definitely tell everything was fresh. I thought that the price was good for what you got as it came with miso soup and small side of creamy noodles (I think it was sweet potato noodles/당면).
I’m grateful that Korean food is becoming easier to find up north (of Austin), and happy to support our small businesses! Definitely...
