I visited the Peltzer Pumpkin farm for the first time in October 2023. I am not from the area but it was advertised as a family fun place. I visited with family that included two toddlers. The place was packed, the parking lot was full and people were parking on the side of the road, that should have been my first clue. The line to purchase tickets was long but moved quickly. They had QR codes to see the tickets you could purchase but no one's cell phone was working (this was amongst three carriers in our group). When we got to the front it was chaos, the young woman that helped us was doing tickets and checking out purchases for pumpkins at another window. It was a rush to figure out what we needed, the toddlers were free but if any adult wanted to be with them they had to purchase tickets. You pay cash and the requisite amount of tickets are given. We paid for the petting zoo that was advertised as having multiple animals including goats, pony and rabbits, the tractor pull and the train ride. We went in and found that the lower level was an alcohol, picture opportunities, bare bones carnival games a kettle corn place and a place to buy drinks as well as the petting zoo. We tried the petting zoo first and it was absolute chaos. Kids were running every amongst goats. When we entered there was only one young woman at the front gate taking tickets. We saw a goats in abundance, and a llama and turkey behind another fence. There were also two sleeping bunnies in a cage in a separate area. There were extremely small baby goats being chased by rambunctious kids and almost trampled. Kids were picking them up, the young woman did warn the children closest to her that it was not permitted but the majority of area began to feel unsafe for a toddler and we quickly left when to of the goats began fighting and locking horns. We walked up the hill and saw the line for the "train" it was completely full with families spilling out into the road. When the "train" pulled up we saw that it was extremely small i.e. it could only hold about 6 people at a time. When looking at the line we found that we would be there for well over an hour waiting to get on, this was not going to work well for the babies. We moved up further to get food, there were about six food trucks and the lines were immense, I tried one for fries and after about 25 minutes of waiting I gave up trying to even place an order. Above that area is a nightclub/bar area that had a bunch of adults that were partying and music playing loudly, we did not explore that area. We tried to go the "tractors" and discovered that they were kids electric cars shaped like tractors. The girl at the front had told us that an adult had to ride with the kids but they are too small to fit an adult. At this point we were all frustrated and decided to leave. I went to the front and asked to have the tickets we paid cash for refunded (she was apologetic and said there was no refunds) but said that they tickets were good for the season. I explained that we were not from the area, she said there was nothing she could do, I asked if we could use the tickets for anything else and I was told we could use them for slushees and the "carnival games". This made absolutely no sense, I paid cash, and the pumpkins, food etc. all took cash. We left, I was out over $50 after being advised at purchase that I needed them not knowing that the lines were ridiculous, not conducive for small children and disorganized. The people that seemed to be having the most fun were the adult and teens on date nights. This was a horrible experience and a...
Read moreSooo I had mixed feelings about this place, I’ll start with the negative and end on a good note.
The Bad: When I visited I had a few rambunctious kids with me so it was a little stress-inducing but when we arrived it was hard to keep them entertained since SO many activities were closed. We expected a huge array of activities based on what we’ve heard but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Additionally, this farm didn’t have many bathrooms, lacked a gift shop, and hardly had any food to offer. They’re was an area that offered tiny sliders but be prepared to pay $20 for two teeny sliders.
The GOOD: This pumpkin farm is very charming and screamed fall. I thought the location was beautiful since it’s in the heart of Temecula Wine Country. The pumpkin farm offers a cute little pumpkin patch where kids and families can take their insta pics. The pumpkin farm also has an awesome petting zoo full of goats and their babies where kids can enjoy feeding them (this was my favorite part of the day). I also liked that this farm had plenty of shady areas to offer some relief from the sun or to eat lunch. Lastly, the staff was really sweet and approachable, I really appreciated their...
Read moreThis was our first outing since the Covid-19 closures in March...we decided to go here as they posted that safe practices were being instituted (e.g. masks, safe distancing, etc..) however what we found when we got there was that masks were optional and hardly anyone was adhering to the safe distancing guidelines, they did have hand washing stations and hand sanitizer, especially near the petting zoo, but for us that was not nearly enough to make us feel comfortable, so after purchasing $20 in tickets for the attractions and only allowing my 3 year old daughter to ride the ponies once as that was the main reason we went, we left. We were HIGHLY disappointed in both the misleading advertising on the website and the careless attitude of the staff during these troubling times, and will probably never go to this establishment ever again...would strongly recommend no one else attend either, at least until the pandemic is over. It will not surprise me to find out later that this place caused another large outbreak of the Corona Virus...
