Outstanding little museum focusing on the history of Tempe. Free! They also have an exceptional committee that arranges lunchtime lectures and presentations, monthly music groups, and other educational experiences for youth and adults. Did I mention it's all free? Last night we rocked the museum with Carmela y Mas and her band of exceptional musicians! Outstanding time!

The building is part of a city complex with a library, art studio, senior center -- plenty of free parking, well lit at night, on bus routes, electric vehicle charge stations, and convenient to the 60 freeway. They now have a raised solar panel array that shades one of the parking lots! Tempe did a great job on this. If you've never been here, you're missing out. If you haven't been here in awhile, be sure to get on their email list, especially for the music, the lunch lectures, and other...

The SW corner of Rural Road and Southern Avenue in Tempe has become a real cultural center in the East Valley. Not only is it the location of Tempe Public Library, Vihel Center for the Arts, and Pyle Adult Center, but it is also the home for Tempe's new, modern Historical Museum. The Museum offers a walk through Tempe's historic, ethnic past set in a modern, colorful building. Exhibits for young and old alike. I especially enjoyed the Hohokam artifacts from Tempe's prehistoric days and my wife appreciated the exhibits presenting Arizona State University history. There is an active program for school children and family-friendly performances. Free admission, free parking, and free...

This is always a great place to walk & talk with a friend or just spend some time alone. It's a small place but always has interesting exhibits going on. We went today for the "Tempe Signs" exhibit ... it was a fun blast from the past. 😀 We also walked through the room to see the areas, including "Campus Corner", showcasing ASU and the local music scene (so many flyers & ads of the bands we used to see). Admission is free but be kind and drop a fiver (or more) in the donation box. 😉 They have a good selection of gifts & trinkets at the entrance/exit. I've even bought a couple very nice t-shirts with...

Día de los Muertos begins tomorrow! 💀🕯️🌼 Originating in Mexico, this two-day holiday signifies the remembrance of our deceased loved ones and our temporary reunion with them. Families typically place offerings of food, drinks, candles and flowers on an ofrenda to honor and greet the guests of honor — their ancestors. Wondering where you can celebrate this holiday around Tempe? On November 4 and 5 from 12-6pm, @dbgphx is having a Día de Muertos celebration in the garden! The event is included with membership or Garden admission. 🌵 Additionally, you can check out the Día de los Muertos ofrenda exhibition by Mexican artist Monica Gisel Crespo at the @tempehistorymuseum from now until November 2. #ourtempe #tempe #arizona #tempetourism #visittempe #diadelosmuertos #arizonatravel #tempeevents #phoenix #phoenixevents #arizonaevents #visitarizona #diademuertos
