Mochinut Tempe — Restaurant in Tempe

This place has quickly become my go-to spot for a fun night out, and it’s officially earned a permanent spot on my “must-take-guests” list. I’ve been several times now, and every visit somehow tops the last. Whenever I bring family or friends from out of town, they leave just as obsessed as I am; and usually planning their next trip back before they’ve even finished their food.

The star of the show is, of course, the mochi donuts. They come as soft, chewy rings made up of little break-apart balls that make them perfect for sharing (or not sharing, no judgment). The flavors rotate, so there’s always something new to try, but each one has that perfect balance of crispy outside and pillowy inside that keeps you hooked.

And then there are the k-dogs—Korean-style corn dogs that take customizable to the next level. You can fill them with beef, mozzarella, or go half-and-half (the ultimate move, in my opinion). From there, you get to play with toppings and dipping sauces, so every order feels like your own creation. It’s indulgent comfort food done right, and it’s dangerously addictive.

Beyond the food, what makes Mochinut stand out is the people. The owners and staff are genuinely amazing—friendly, helpful, and welcoming every single time. They’ve become true staples in the local community, creating a place that feels as warm as it is delicious.

Our CA team was here for 4 days training - Icy cold drinks & sweets & treats are definitely needed in this weather! So our wonderful Tempe team took us to this Mochinut who also serves DRINKS! WOW One stops fits all needs! (Plus easy parking and convenient location! Thank goodness in AZ afternoon!)

My Lychee Ice Tea and my coworker’s Cream Top Matcha Latte are so so good! MUST TRY! We appreciate they use REAL Ingredients & Fruit, instead of those powder mix!

We also got few boxes of Mochinuts and K-hotdogs for the whole team. Bravo for the nice and friendly customer service in the store - they gave us great suggestions and being really patient, THANK YOU! - And the mochi donuts - honestly the freshness wins over most of the CA mochi donuts stores we’ve tried. You know they made it right! The varieties are interesting and yet, not disappointing at all! I LOVE the Sesame Mochinut, and our team also vote (fight~) for the Almond Chocolate mochinuts, but all surprisingly happy with the other 5 choices (see pic: Original, Milk Pebbles, Churro, Raspberry Funnel Cake, and of coz Sesame).

K-hotdogs were so crispy with the unique K-dog texture inside! The seasoning are perfect! That result with we didn’t get enough for everyone…oops.

So end up we all head back to the store after 2 days, and got even more for our road trip back home (Because the friendly lady at the store inform us varieties will be updated every 3 days, that’s just too...

Ok so sure, when you walk in, the aesthetics are really basic... But don't let that fool you.

There is just nothing like a mochinut! The texture is amazing. And do you know anywhere else you could get mozzarella covered in ramen or cereal and fried?

There's more than one "Mochinut" location in the valley, so why come to this one?

Well as someone who drives all the way from Apache Junction to Tempe (even though I basically pass a different location in Gilbert on my way) I can tell you... This location stand apart. Sure, the Gilbert one has ramen machines, but we have all made instant ramen before..

This location has k dogs. That alone is worth the trip. Various insides covered in various outsides... Can't go wrong. Plus, a lot of people have a lot of negative to say about the drink quality at the other location.. here they are made perfect and delicious every time!

And last but certainly not least.. the staff alone is worth the drive. They are incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable.. I just can't say enough! Today my daughter and I were helped by Mariah and shes been the most helpful and friendly yet. Whatever they pay her, it isn't enough. You just don't find such excellent customer service paired with such a winning attitude.

So yeah.. sick of your regular donut/coffee/shake/quick food spots? Try Mochinut (especially this-Tempe location.. they are independently owned so it does matter which one you visit!)...
