Arthenia L. Joyner University Area Community Library — Attraction in Temple Terrace

I use to like coming here all the time because it is next to my daughter’s school. I would have given this place 5 stars but unfortunately, thats not happening anymore. Today as I was doing my work privately and respectfully. I was interrupted by a knock on the door. It was a librarian asking me to leave the study room for no reason what so ever. I was shocked and taken back. I come here all the time for hours in to do my work, and I have never been limited to do my work from any library. Thats why you come to a library for sanctuary of studies/work. This time left a very sour taste for me and I will not be returning. I see why they have sheriffs and arm guards here everyday. Nice library but I am left in a pickle with a very hungry kindergartener after school. I understand that food is not customarily allowed in libraries but this one allows patrons to eat and drink inside as long as the items are purchased from their vending machines. I am disappointed that a healthier food selection is not offered. I cannot feed my child healthy snacks from home inside or even outside of the library (there are no tables or chairs). A very beautiful library! I adore the brightly colored floor design. It isn’t a very big location, but it gives you an intimate feel which I love and it is always clean both inside and outside. The Librarians are super friendly and helpful when needed. They offer easy and convenient printing that can be started at home and I’m simply obsessed with their self checkout! When I receive a text notification that my holds are available, I just pop right over…check myself out and head out...
