It breaks my heart to not have more positive things to say about our experience with this florist. I had very high hopes and realistic expectations that simply were not met from start to finish. We chose this business based on the beautiful photos we had seen of past weddings when searching for florists in the Toccoa area. Upon first interacting with the staff, it was quickly made obvious that they are extremely short staffed due to the lack of consistent communication we experienced. We live 2 hours away and we even tried stopping by the shop on 2 separate occasions, and both times they were closed during posted business hours. And they would not answer the phone! Getting a staff member to return our call or respond to an email in a timely manner was like pulling teeth. I would say the most stressful part about my entire wedding planning process was dealing with Downtown Flowers. When we finally received an invoice outlining all of the products and prices we requested, the quantity was off and a mystery $350 fee appeared that was not included in the original quote. The owner, Kaitlin, blamed the incorrect invoice on system issues? If that was the case, fine, I get it happens. But this is your business and we are paying clients. We should not have to work this hard to simply pay for the service you offer. Aside from the horrible communication and poor customer service, the floral arrangements we received were good but not great, which is why I am giving 2 out of 5 stars rather than just 1 star. I will say I loved the bouquets and they were very close to what I had asked for (see photos). My inspiration was a wildflower arrangement with jewel tone colors of burgundys, purples, blues, and greenery. She did deliver on the vision I had in mind. However, the bridesmaid bouquets were the same size as the my bridal bouquet, which I assumed would be bigger and more elaborate. Lastly, the mother’s corsages were so tiny and unnoticeable. They were mounted on brassy bracelets that did not properly fit to my mothers wrist. Overall I am disappointed in everything from the communication to the timeliness to the execution of the floral arrangements. I hope this review is taken to heart by this establishment and they make the proper changes to ensure that this type of service is not given to clients...
Read moreWorst communication ever! We received a proposal from Kaitlin for my son and daughter-in-law‘s wedding and decided to use her. I called and emailed several times trying to pay the deposit so we could be certain to reserve them for the wedding. Eventually, I was begging for someone to contact me so I could make a payment. How ridiculous is that! Anyway, when she finally called back, I told her to be sure and send me an invoice reflecting the paid deposit and to be sure that I was on all email communications regarding the future payments. The bride, her mother and I had to call an email several times and when I finally got the invoice, there was an additional $350 that have been added for “labor” that was not on the original proposal. Again, I called and left voicemails and sent emails inquiring about this additional charge only to finally get a response weeks later that it should’ve been on the proposal, sorry. WHAT?!? That’s it, but at this point and to save the bride any additional stress, we had to accept it since the wedding was only a few months away. We had specific dates scheduled to pay the balance and again, several phone calls and emails trying to give them money and no response until finally I get a “PAST DUE” invoice. On that invoice we noticed that it didn’t reflect the correct number of mothers corsages. So, again, multiple phone calls and emails to get it right with no response. I can go on and on about the number of phone calls and emails that the bride, her mother and I made to get the order right and to just pay the woman, but I think you get the picture. We had hoped that after all this stress from Kaitlin‘s lack of communication and then not knowing whether we were even going to have flowers show up at the wedding and if they did, would they be correct, that the flowers would be incredible. They were very average and the mothers corsages were on hard metal cuffs that wouldn’t stay on your wrist well causing the flowers to break off. To say we were all disappointed is an understatement! So, future brides BEWARE!! I would strongly suggest that you look into the neighboring towns for another florist. I would NOT recommend her to anyone for any floral needs! She is just not...
Read moreKaitlyn Long is the owner and absolutely the worst communicator. She forgot our appt. In April for my daughter's wedding floral planning, and hey I thought she is busy and a mom so I gave her grace. That should have been my first clue. She ended up meeting us an hour later and we went over what we wanted and she told us that she would get back to us by May(one month later) I had no problem again because the wedding was in August. Long story short she never got back to us. We called emailed and finally by the end of June she gave us a quote and expected full payment. McDonald's employees give better customer service than she does. We didn't have a choice because we were in Toccoa for the wedding. She delivered flowers and for the price she charged the arragements were so small. I told her that on the day of the wedding. She said that she would have to go to her shop to get more greenery to fill the arragements...as if it's my fault. I asked why did she not have that in her vehicle with her. The sweetheart table she drew one thing and provided another. I was extremely dissapointed and sad that she did us that way. Maybe she is going thru something I don't know, but her communication skills are absolutely detrimental to her business. As I read the reviews I guess I wasn't the only one. Just to clarify the arragements were pretty but not at all the size she sent us pictures of. The arragements looked like they were for a dinner party at home and not a wedding. I would not recommend this company at all unless you want to pull...
