Let me start by saying the food is DELICIOUS! Kudos to Chef. However, the service sucked. We walked in, sign said have a seat wherever you'd like. So we (my sisnlaw, 4yr old and a 2month old baby) took a booth. They seemed to be moderately busy. Four servers and the owner who was also working the floor. We sat, someone said we will be right with you. Two mins later a server asked if we were ready, we said not yet the toddler is thinking. Six mins goes by, the owner says, we will be right with you ladies. Then another 15mins before anyone took our order. Our server was just told by the owner to get off her cell phone, she walked over to us and said "go ahead". It took me aback because there was no pleasantries. As I ordered my toddler's burger, I asked for light mayo. She said "we give that to you" walked away, grabbed a small container and THREW it on the table. Then said "go ahead" and continued to say those words after each thing was ordered. Then grabbed the menus and left. We got our food about 15mins later. It was good. We had one server refill our glasses, Noone checked to see if the toddlers cup needed refilled. I finished first, the server that took our order came over with a different tone when asking if she could take my plate, it was more polite. Then my sisnlaw finished and her plate sat there. We waited another 10mins waiting for someone to ask if we needed anything, a to go box or our check, and no one came. So I got up and went to the servers station and got my own box. Then waited another second hoping someone would bring our check, nothing and no one came. So we went to the bar where the owner and two servers were standing around. The owner said "are you ready"? I said in a very stern tone, "I am". He asked if everything was alright, I said "no, it isn't, I'm ready to go". He asked what was wrong. And I proceeded to tell him how it went. He said "your lunch is on me", "have a great day" I said thank you and headed out the door. As I was walking away I heard him say "that's two tables now that have had an issue". So I turned around and walked back and started speaking to the server who took our order. I told her as someone who is in Management her customer service was very rude. I told her she took her anger of being in trouble about her phone out on the customer. She tried to justify it saying she was the only one working the floor, but I made sure to remind her there were 4 servers. She still tried to make excuses and the owner told her to stop talking and listen. Then she tried again to interrupt and he told her to cut it off. I said try better, and...
Read moreX-factor grill astounded me with it's mediocre food and exceptionally poor service. Perhaps they where having a bad day, and this review may not reflect the average experience at X-factor.
The service: we arrived for a late lunch around 1pm and waited at the door for approximately 5 minutes. We where not greeted by the staff and had to flag someone down just to be seated. The restaurant had a several patrons in it but was certainly not busy. We requested to be seated at a table but was directed to a booth despite there being several tables available. We had to flag a staff member down to get a check after we finished eating and had waited around 10 to 15 minutes.
The food: Our table ordered two Reuben sandwiches and two Cheese Burgers. The sides where 1 order of Fried Green Tomatoes and 3 orders of French Fries. The Cheese burgers looked good and tasted fine, the Reubens on the other hand were sloppy and soggy. The corned beef was not spread evenly and they required utensils to eat. The French Fries had inconsistent portions with one plate having roughly half the fries of an another, the flavor was good but that was all. The Fried Green Tomatoes had good flavor but were adhered together. The portions were small and underwhelming. Price was ok.
In summary put an X for the X-factor grill, I will not...
Read moreStopped in for lunch while passing through town. From the start, it was evident that the locals knew we were "not from around here." Glances and conversations persisted throughout our (considerable) time there...more on that later. While I realize that patron behavior is largely out of the control of the establishment, we were made to feel a bit uncomfortable. After having figured out we were to seat our selves, it was a good 10 minutes before a waitress appeared at your table, despite having seen three others busting themselves at other tables...and we certainly hadn't gone unnoticed, so I'm unsure what the delay was about. The waitress was very sweet and the food was good enough. It is fresh and homemade. You can tell...but it took nearly an hour for us to find out. I spent a considerable amount of time perusing the antique store that was attached (which was charming) and I thought " Better get back, food will be cold" only to find out I still had another 20 minutes before it would eventually arrive. All told it took us an hour and forty five minutes from time in to time out...for lunch...on a Wednesday...with our party and eight other people in the restaurant. Beware the high rating, this place is a 3 star at best, but I'm glad the...
