Dog park. Visited the dog park for our first time today, we have an almost 6 month old golden retriever puppy. With him just about 40 pounds I decided to check out the large dog area first. Right as we entered we were greeted with several dogs, two in particular that we had problems with (The second dog and the owner recognized that the behavior was a little to rough even though it wasn’t aggressive and came and leased their dog to redirect). These two dogs were playing very rough, not aggressive but something that myself and my dog were both uncomfortable with. My dog was being submissive, crouching down to the ground, tail between the legs and backing up. To try to break up and get some space, I stepped in between the one dog and my dog to get my dog back on the leash. While doing so I put my leg up and the other dog ran into me (The dog was in motion heading towards my dog and was very thick, strong built dog). The owner proceeds to approach me very angrily accusing me of kicking his dog. I left and entered the small dog area where there was another golden retriever and a few xsmall dogs. Everyone was welcoming in that area and the dogs played well together.

The dog park itself is a nice area despite the surrounding area. Both play areas were clean, had some shady spots and a couple obstacles that the dogs can play in and around.

We ended up taking a walk by the river and getting a...

Nice dog park with a separate area for small dogs and some basic agility equipment. Pros: Good location. Some nice shaded areas, trees, and benches. Everyone is friendly. Room for improvement: There are no doggy water fountains inside the fenced area. (A lot of people bring water and are willing to share - see friendly people - and I bring my own now too but I forgot the first few times because I just moved here and I'm used to a park with accessible water for the dogs.) There are no pet waste stations in the park, you have to leave the fenced in area or reach over the fence to get a bag and throw away. I try to bring my own bags but nobody's perfect, we all forget sometimes or don't realize we're down to the last bag. My dog has separation anxiety and gets upset if I leave the park without her. Waste disposal inside the park is a pretty standard feature of most dog parks. There are some holes and muddy areas, especially after a recent rain. Also, and this may be a pro or a con depending on your perspective, there is no "lake" for dogs that...

Recently developed area located near downtown, on the river... it's not a large place but manages to fit most things a person and their 4 legged companion would require. A dog park area divided for large and small. No fancy toys but very roomy for energetic play, and quite convenient for the populous that calls that area home...my lil guy and I enjoy on and off the trails and on some days if no one is around we confess to off leash time to chase the occasional squirrel or rabbit...there is a spot intended for kayak launching...a couple of areas right on rivers edge to contemplate your place in this world or do some grilling...a comfortable looking shelter house with restroom and water fountain attached...an open air grouping of tables and chairs with a round of umbrellas overhead, at the moment resembling a tree full of chrysalises patiently waiting for spring completes the...

The path is near the river with up close views of the bridge. There’s a nice pavilion area with grills, picnic tables and bathrooms. Ample parking. People were walking, running, biking, fishing. We didn’t think the walking loop was very long.. maybe 1 mile?.. so we extended it by entering the Owens Corning area, open to the public until dusk. Their property is even closer to the water. Could see The Docks across the river and watched a line of people board ‘The Sandpiper’.
