It was my birthday today the 7th of July and since Mexican food is my fave, Hubby and I, had to visit our first and our last time. Paradox left a hateful review saying that white people get to eat first while they whoever paradox is waited well I reported your review. I was hoping the good reviews I read before my first visit would outweigh the bad reviews and it didn't. It was the worst experiance we ever got. I even told them it was my bday. It was rude to take advantage of our easy going attitude to forget about our drinks and chip/salsa refills. It was very slow. We had to ask other servers to get water for us. My husband was done eating and I was still waiting for my plate because they messed it up. I ordered the pineapple dish and the server failed to simply inform me it comes with shrimp. I did say I wanted chicken out of the three meats listed on the menu so...I thought that there was something wrong about us or they didn't prefer white people but after reading other low stars again to see our exoeriance was off but reminded me that it definitely wasn't us but them. Not even on a resteraunt's busiest time should anyone get this service and the resteraunt was only half (give or take) filled. Mind you we were on the patio and most tables were empty. We also waited 15 minutes plus to get to the patio and there were empty tables and didn't realise that until now that I'm typing and wished I did bc it was a good sign that this was not it for any enjoyable experiance which at the very least is required. To type this on my bday has to say something. It left a bad impression and its really sad BECAUSE I whole heartedly wanted to have that same wonderful experiance everyone else was experiencing. We won't be back there. So sad. Future patron be wary. And take notice of time if it's slow cut it short and go someplace that...

Okay, buckle up—I’m about to get real gushy.
I’ve been rollin’ through to San Marcos for years—before I had my little people, carrying them, after those wild family days. No matter if it’s me alone or the whole crew, this place always hits. The flavors are so homey, so right, it’s like being wrapped in a warm tortilla hug with every bite.
But y’all… the last visit? It was next-level. The food was different—in a glorious, jaw-dropping way. I can’t even explain the tweaks they made, but the seasonings? Elevated. The dishes had a freshness, a sort of sparkle that made me second-guess.. is it new? Is it just me glowin’ from the fitness grind? No—they did that. They leveled up. And I’m here for it.
Beyond that holy-moly taste: the vibes and service are always on point. Every time we walk in, we’re greeted by friendly servers—guys, girls, people who just get hospitality. I’ve never encountered bad service. It’s like they know exactly what I need before I even say it.
Why everyone should give San Marcos their heart (and tummy) 😉 This spot is the real deal—no gimmicks, just authentic Mexican staples that taste like home. The portions are huge without breaking the bank, so you leave full, happy, and proud of your wallet. The vibe is unique too, tucked inside a Mexican market where you stumble right into flavor town. And let’s talk tacos.. street-style with cilantro and onions, barbacoa, burritos… their taco game is strong, and fans can’t stop talking about it… On top of all that, the service is consistently stellar, even when it’s busy.. they always roll...
Read moreWorst Experience Ever Today
Typically we have a great experience. Today, by far, I will have to say, failed miserably in comparison. I called in an order to go, due to a short lunch hour. I reviewed the order twice over the phone and it was repeated back to me. I was informed it would take 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later to pick my food and it was not ready. A few minutes passed and we were called over to be helped and I said I was here to pick up an order for Michelle and the women at the counter snipped back that we don't take names! I explained that they asked for my name? No biggie. However she said is it for 2 tacos, I said no, 3. She said 3 steak tacos? I said no, 3 barbacoa tacos and a side of rice. She fumbled through the rest of the orders and went back to the first order and said this one is yours. 2 tacos. I said I would like the 3 that I ordered. And she said, 20 more minutes, do you want it? I said no, I am on a lunch hour and I dont have another 20 minutes to wait for a taco I already ordered. Can you not just go grab another taco? She NO, its special taco day. Its not my fault. I dont take the orders. She continued to argue with us until we paid the ticket and left. Ridiculous! To pretend like a manager and treat loyal customers so poorly. Wont be going back for a...
