It's been a very long time since we were in a town that had a Spaghetti Warehouse, so we decided to treat ourselves while in town for business. From beginning to end the staff were incredibly friendly & attentive. The atmosphere was what you remember it being, and things were maintained well. The biggest downside was the food. It started with the sourdough bread with garlic butter, which normally I'd love. But the bread & butter had no salt content, so all you could taste was garlic (or tasteless bread if eaten alone). The salad was the best part of the night. The salad dressings were great & a perfect portion size. For the main meal, we did something we rarely do - we ordered a meal "for two." The Ultimate Feast, which had Chicken Parmigiana, 15-Layer Lasagna, Spaghetti with tomato sauce, Ravioli w/ Alfredo sauce, Italian pork sausages, meatballs, and garlic bread. We were both pretty stumped to find that there was not one really enjoyable thing on the plate. The chicken was overcooked & we could only eat half of the piece because it was as hard as a rock. There was very little chicken, it was so thin. The lasagna was buried under a luke-warm meat sauce, and the pasta was dried out. There was little cheese, and the pork-spread that they put on the layers almost seemed raw. The ravioli was edible, except for the watery alfredo sauce that seemed to contain way more salt than butter, cream, or anything else. Which was weird, because everything else lacked a little salt to help bring out the best of each ingredient. The meatballs were ok. They were the only thing we ate in their entirety. The spaghetti was ok, but again there was just so much sauce, and it was lacking a pinch of salt. The pork sausages, which my husband loves, couldn't be eaten after one bite. It tasted underdone...or that something went incredibly wrong in the process. The garlic bread was put atop the incredibly salty alfredo sauce, making it soggy & way too salty to eat. So basically, for $40 we enjoyed the salads, meatballs...and everything else was just a huge disappointment. It was a Saturday night at 8:30pm, maybe we were getting the leftovers, but it was not at all what we expected or remembered. We'd go back because of the staff & atmosphere...but would probably stick to...
Read moreA little background. My husband and I went to this same restaurant Over 26 years ago. I thought it had closed with many of the other restaurants in this franchise. We have recently relocated back in the Toledo area for work and are expecting to be here for the next few months. So on date night we got a little nostalgic... And other than a very nice waitstaff that is were the positive ends. I really really want this to be a 5 star review but it pushing it to just make three. One of those three stars is nostalgia talking. Let's start with the google listing. See picture attached. No tables until 9pm? I called and they asked how many were in our party and when I said two they said to come on in. I was expecting a packed house but Excuse me at 8pm on a Friday only four other tables were seated and no one was waiting... but we waited 7 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. Several employees walked past us. The food: The bread was just a white bread loaf. Good but nothing special. Salad all iceberg takes like store bought bagged salad. The main coarse: Fettuccini was at best awful. The noodle old and dried out and sauce was curdled, greasy, and separated. My husband who is vegan could only order salad or spaghetti. He said it was just OK. Atmosphere: Very noticeable upbeat 70s/80s music. Nothing romantic there. While we still love the old trolley, decorations, booths many seats were torn and every surface looked worn and in need of scrubbing. Vintage is cool worn and in disrepair not so much. Not so much vintage chic as rundown waiting for a second chance. I am not suggesting redecorate! The appeal is some of the cool decorations but do a deep clean and refresh. New table tops, reupholster seats, and fresh paint and wood polish would help! get rid of the ugly games (move them down with the others!) blocking the beautiful brick warehouse wall. Great photo op for your patrons and free social add op ruined. It saddens us both to say we will probably not be back as it saddens us even more to see a legacy fade. If we ever hear they have new energy we would love to return! I'm forever...
Read moreThis was by far one of the absolutely worst experiences we've ever had at a Spaghetti Warehouse! Being from Cbus, we visit our location often, so this was quite a shock for us. We arrived at 9 p.m. after our daughter finished a cheer competition, and we immediately asked if they were going to be closing soon since we knew some places had been thanks to COVID. The hostess told us no and took us straight to a table. Our daughter had wanted to sit in the caboose and the hostess politely obliged. It took over 10 minutes for our server to greet us and had told us that she was sure that we already knew what we wanted to order, which kind of took us aback how kind of rude she was. She acted like it was a big problem that we were there and she had to serve us. They were only serving from a limited menu so thankfully what we normally order was on it so we were able to order right then. After about 10 minutes we received our salads and drinks. When our food came out it looked like the manager serving us. It was nice to see he helped his staff when needed, and he was very pleasant. While we we eating our dinner 2 other male servers thought it was a good idea to get into a rather loud argument right in the dining room next to us and a couple other tables with children at them. They were dropping F-word bombs left and right, and didn't seem to care that there were lots of families with children sitting around them. The manager ended up bringing us some drink refills after we sat with empty cups from the time he brought us our food. Once our server finally came back to check on us she told us that she would be bringing us out some more bread once it was finished baking, which was fine. By the time the bread was done and she brought it to us we were done eating. We asked for some boxes and a bag, that took another 15 minutes and several trips because she forgot. She had no problem taking our card immediately to pay our check though. Overall, the only good thing about this visit was how friendly the manager and the...
