The park has areas where you can sail in from the river and temporarily tie up your boat for a walk about.
It's named after a locally famous man from Toms River history. The park provides a relaxing view of parts of the river.
During warm weather months, a Farmers Market is held here on Wednesday until 4:00 pm.
The only downside is that portions of the park, including the central gazebo are fouled with Canada geese droppings. I did not encounter any geese during my visit.
The main access point and parking lot is off of Water Street in Downtown Toms River. The island portion of the park is accessible by a footbridge. Various plaques are presented through out the park providing descriptions to either historic events or landmarks of the area.
