I hate people, and driving, and downtown Toms River, and parking in downtown Toms River. I drag my carcass out to work each day and that's it. Existence is miserable right now for sure, but luckily Uncle Doods has survived the pandemic. Recently I went to drop off my ballot (go Biden!) at the dropbox in front of the library. I went mega early on my day off so I wouldn't have to contend with too many slobs in my way or too much traffic. On my way back to my hearse I remembered that donuts are nearby, so I walked over there for the first time in a couple years. I bought a Twixed and tore into it immediately when I got home. It was still warm. The orchestral music swelled while I saw the sun and the stars and the sky (I was inside). My mouth filled with chocolaty goodness as I began to recall what living felt like. If I had a soul, it would have been infused with bliss while I ate. In all seriousness, the donuts are quickly and expertly made when you order them. If you have a sweet tooth, you owe it to yourself to brave the creeping numbness that downtown Toms River brings everyone and try the creative and unique donuts in Uncle Dood's. It may just stave off that existential crisis that were all having for a day or two.

Read moreOMG. Massive donut lover here. I was visiting Jersey from out of state and was so excited to try Uncle Dood's. I am beyond impressed.
We went early on a Sunday and there were a few people ahead of us but the line moved really quickly. The way it works is that we wait in line outside, no indoor access that I could tell. But because it was a nice, summer day and the line moved efficiently it wasn't an issue at all and I rather enjoyed the experience.
Our box of 9 were handed to us even quicker than anticipated and we had a box of hot/warm donuts to consume. Wow, they were incredible donuts! I cannot say enough good things about them!
They had amazing flavor options including their regular year-round flavors and a rotation of monthly donuts. The green donut in the picture was the only "June" donut we got. It was called Training Wheels and it was an amazing tequila lime flavor with salt. Soooo good! The rest were regular flavors).
My favorite was the chocolate Oreo donut (don't remember the clever name) and we also got a PB Oreo. The donuts were hot, soft, moist, and had such an amazing flavor all on their own, on top of the incredible topping options. The only drawback is that I don't live closer to sample them regularly. 🥺 Highly recommend this gem aka "donut...
Read moreI'd like to say that I really do not enjoy donuts. I never have, even when I was a kid and Dunkin used to make the donuts in-house and were fresh. I've even eaten HOT crispy cream donuts which were good but 1 was enough.
A co-worker brought some Uncle Doods into work and they smelled delicious and I was close to passing them up but he said to try them so I did. I still do not like donuts, but I make all forms of exceptions for Uncle Doods, I will name my first born "Dood" in memory of the best donut that is humanly possible to create. In the past 4 months we've had Uncle Doods 4-5 times and each time I try to hate them but it's impossible.
These have to be the best donuts on the planet. I've never been in the store but hhave heard how nice the guy is inside and $10 for 9 donuts that are fresh, homemade and supporting a local business is a great deal!
The donuts have a really good tasty to them, the crispy texture is what sets them apart from these factory made donuts. The toppings are "fun" and make my taste buds orgasm which possible increases the flavor, which I'm ok with.
If you live within 9000 miles of Uncle Doods, it is your mission to make the pilgrimage. Because if you're milage is over 9000, that is something that I think even Uncle Dood...
