A Thyme for All Seasons — Restaurant in Toms River

We should’ve gone to IHOP…I choose restaurants based on reviews so I felt the need to write this. What a disappointment this place was…they ran out of decaf coffee at 10am on a Saturday morning; only fruit for waffles/pancakes/French toast was watermelon and cantaloupe; the morning plate comes with toast yet never asked what kind we wanted and came out with none. We asked for over hard eggs and they came out over easy but the worst thing was that the issue was not remedied. Where was the customer service??? We asked for Orange juice, it came out on ice. I asked for club soda and she brought out Sprite, and after tasting It And realizing it was not club soda, I was told sprite and club soda are the same thing. The food was not bad, but the experience was terrible. At the end after getting a $65 bill, I realized that we were charged for the drinks we told her we didn’t want, the meal one of the parties didn’t eat because it was not what they asked for was still there and the server stood at the table and watched while we paid which I found to be unprofessional, this coming from someone who was a server and my husband a restaurant manager. I went here with my daughter today for lunch. She comes here almost every day and always tells me how good the food is. I thought I'd give this a try. We were warmly greeted by very nice staff and sat in comfortable chairs, clean simple tables that have the nice minimalist vib that is both classic and urban. My daughter ordered the Steak and gouda salad. The steak was cooked to melt in your mouth perfection, with the smoked gouda cheese and other fresh ingredients, this salad was delicious. I ordered the chicken balsamic panini sandwich with fires. Let me say I do not normally eat bread because I do not like bread. This panini bread was seasoned to mouth watering perfection, chicken was cooked marvelously with care that it retain the flavors and you can taste all the fresh ingredients of this panini. A warning to other patrons. There is a %25 upcharge for any dish containing eggs. The prices in the menu do not reflect this, and I was not told this prior to ordering by my server. When I asked about the discrepancy on my bill, I was told there is an increased price in eggs and there is a sign. I looked around and did not notice any sign. It was later pointed out to me, the small sign is on the counter by the register. My meal was $2.25 extra for the 2 eggs. I don't think this reasonably reflects the increased cost of eggs for a restaurant. After looking at other reviews, I noticed this was brought up 4 months ago. Plenty of time to adjust the prices in the menu. This kind of shady and misleading business practice left me feeling quite dissatisfied with my experience, and I will not be returning.
