I am absolutely DISGUSTED with this company! I am a single father that struggles financially. My almost 5 year old son and I decided that we wanted to see Star Wars in Max 4D which we have never experienced. I requested the tickets online and my son and I were extremely excited to see the movie it was going to be a rare but awesome treat for us. When it was about time to leave to head to the theater I decided to go start our car so it could warm up a bit before we left and for some reason our car just would not start. I tried everything I could to diagnose it quickly and fix the problem but to no avail. I then immediately tried to call the theater to let them know what was happening but everything is automated and still says the theater is under constuction and will open soon which I found odd. But you litterally CAN NOT get ahold of anyone! I called numerous times and tried searching for different numbers to the theater, nothing. Meanwhile my son is balling his eyes out because we cant go to the movie. I then did the only thing I could and filled out the contact us form. At this point my bank account had a hold on the $40.09 for the tickets I requested for my son and I. But then after the movie would have been over they went ahead and withdrew the $40.09 for the tickets from my account even though I was not able to make it to the theater to redeem our tickets so the theater obviously knew we didnt make it. They still have not even had the decency to respond to my contact us form. I feel absolutely hurt and swindled. In my opinion they stole money from me and should...
Read moreI was excited to try out the Wheatfield theatres and treat my son to a memorable birthday in the first theatre, in Topeka, that had moving seats. Much to my displeasure, it was memorable but not in a good way. After ordering the tickets online we happily entered the beautiful venue and spent $20 on snacks. Then after 2 minutes of being in the seats, the sound was so loud that it hurt my ears. Thinking it was just me, and not wanting to ruin the experience for others, I went to the lobby and asked if they had ear plugs. The helpful young lady at the concession counter said that they didn't, but found a pair of head phones. I headed back to the room where the previews were still playing and where I met my son coming out of the theatre. He said that the sound was hurting HIS ears. We went back in and grabbed by husband and left. He said that it was hurting his ears also. We went to the concession counter and told the kind young woman. She asked her boss about it and he told her to tell us that that is just the way it is. My blood pressure immediatly started to rise. We had to go over to talk to the manager ourselves and tell him that it was totally unacceptable. They did refund the money for our movies, but we were out of pocket for the booking fees and $20 of snacks. What a horrible experience. My advice for ANYONE going to the movie there, take ear plugs and DON'T take your kids who will lose their hearing. I felt that I was treated very rudely by the manager, felt slighted and left VERY dissapointed on how I was treated. If I could give a negative...
Read moreThe seating options were definitely good. Lots of walking space in front of seats and behind.
Concessions aren’t bad — seem priced as would be expected. Had some decent selections of flavor toppings for the popcorn which was nice.
The noise in the theatre is quite loud. Watched Rise of Skywalker and could hear the previews from the neighboring theatre room in ours. Just before the previews started, the audio went way up. According to my Apple Watch, most of the previews were at 85-90db, whereas prior to that, the audio seemed to be in the 65-80 range, if I were to guess. It was pretty painful and had to cover my ears.
Once the movie began, the audio was still much louder than at other theatres I’ve been to. At one point I went out and asked about the volume, I was told “that’s just the way it is with the previews” and when mentioning that it didn’t return to normal after previews was told, “nope, not possible.”
About halfway through the movie I did notice the audio level seemed to go down to 70-75, which was still fairly loud but similar to most theatres I’ve been in.
So, accommodations were fine. But if you’re concerned about the noise level, I’d highly recommend skipping the trailers here — which this is the only theatre I’ve been to where the trailers are significantly louder than the movie — bringing earplugs or just going to a different theatre.
Given the hand-waving response, I’ll probably choose the latter. Your...
