El Taquito Express — Restaurant in Topeka

I am visiting Topeka and decided to get some food here. I can't rate the service because I did a carry out order through doordash but the lady who handed me my food was nice during our brief interaction. But the Chicken Flautas was really good (in my opinion but I also have never had flautas before so I don't have anything to compare it to). #1 Enchiladas Combo was not good. No seasoning on the beef or chicken, NO cheese in the cheese enchilada, rice was odd and beans were the only seasoned item on the plate. Also got the chicken #4 Quesadilla.... item description did not mention refried beans being IN the quesadilla!! I am not a fan of refried beans at all and for this to be the first time to ever have them be IN my quesadilla, never again please. And my corn in a cup had a lot of cheese and they clearly poured the can of corn in the cup with all the juice without draining it so my corn and cheese is sitting in juice..... Churrose were the only good thing I ordered. I have been to plenty of Mexican restaurants and this is honestly the worst experience that I have ever had. Not worth the money nor will I be a customer here again. Hope the service...

Update 8/10/22, still only 1 Star review. haven’t been here for nearly 2 years. Tried it again today. Ordered 2 tostados, both were stacked on top of each other in 1 container instead of their normal 2 containers? Soggy, sloppy mess. Meat & beans lukewarm. I really do want to like & support this place, but the food is NEVER hot. I pull over and eat it in your parking lot. There is no chance the food had time to cool off- it should still be hot. No one should have to say when ordering, “please make sure its hot”. Only get 1 teaspoon of sauce with order. $0.25 more for 1 more teaspoon of sauce for the second tostado. That comes out to $192 per gallon. Your watery sauce isn’t that good. Good grief. Mexican food is eaten with sauce. If you’re too skimpy to not serve sauce with your food, you’re in the wrong business. See you in another year, maybe.

Hit & miss quality. Some days food is good, others days tortillas are cold. Not consistent. They always skimp on cheese.

Always love this place and it’s close to home and normally great food, but today’s experience was horrible. Called ahead waited the 20 minutes they asked for and order didn’t get started until I arrived so we waited again. We got 9 tacos and asked for 2 mild and 1 hot she charged us for extra sauce. One of the tacos had less than a spoonful of meat on it and the others don’t have much more and they were all so greasy the shells fell apart. My fiancé doesn’t like the Pastor but because they were all in one container and greasy his shells are coated in the Pastor grease. She was extremely rude today as well rolling her eyes when we asked for another sauce and rolled her eyes when we struggled to pronounce...
