Brooktondale Union Station Chicago We had a six hour layover here between Amtrak trains. We had access to the Metropolitan Lounge. They provided free soft drinks and numerous snacks. A very neat and clean place away from the noise and station crowds. If you get the opportunity and have excess amount of time, there is no better place to wait. The attendant at the front entrance was exceptionally informative and pleasant.
Torrington historical society Visited here to research a family name. We were met by Gail, the archivist, who was extremely helpful. Gail provided interesting archive information about the family. She stayed with us the whole time and provided helpful information. She also gave us a tour of the historical house and the next door museum. The 1900 built house has been almost fully restored to its original condition and also has virtually all its original furnishings. The woodwork was amazing and very interesting. A truly impressive place with an equally impressive guide - Gail. For those interested in Connecticut history, this is a great...

And last, but not least, the staff that we met their were very friendly and...

It is restored to the full beauty it once had when the upper classes lived along Main Street. Also, see the museum of Torrington history next door. It presents a timeline from pre-historic to modern industrial history of the area. Many artifacts and exhibits are presented. A visit here is well...
