Amazing place to visit. My husband is in town on a business trip and my daughter and I decided to tag along. Looking to kill some time this afternoon we decided to check out the museum. The museum is inside the old jail that was built in the 1800's and was last used to house criminals in the 1990's. The cells and the rest of the place is filled with different things from the county ranging from farm tools, medical instruments, coal carts, indian artifacts, information on the history of the jail, and so much more. All of which are very fascinating. What makes this museum even better is that an employee will, if you want, talk to you about the history of the jail, town, and the county. We were so lucky to be shown around by Tom Schuster. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and an all around great guy and guide. He answered all of our questions and went into depth explaining things to us that we wanted to know more about. I can't recommend this place enough. The cost is free but they happily except donations. If your in Bradford county stop by and have a look. *Tom, thank you so much for taking the time to show us around and makeing us feel welcomed. You are truly one of the best guides I've ever talked with and your passion for the community is felt. 🙂

I've been here twice with close to ten years in between visits. Our tour guide was really knowledgeable, and he loved telling us about the notable things in the collection. The building is really clean and well maintained. The museum is in the old jail, so it's really like two museums in one! It's a county museum, but it's also the jail museum. Both are fascinating. Highly recommend!

A unique, interesting and rich source of historical information on Bradford County and its residents. I found a wealth of information on my ancestors through local records available here. The staff is very helpful in guiding you on the libraries resources and how to research them. This library is truly a unique resource for genealogist research and a treasure to descendants of Bradford Co. residents. I traveled from San Diego to use the facility and found it an exceptionally rich depository...

I recently had the pleasure of working with the Bradford County Historical Society team to research the family who owned my property in the 1800s, and the results were amazing. The team did phenomenal work. I got a huge packet of information with some additional bonus information about another family. I highly recommend that the Bradford County Historical Society team do any research you need. Their resources are excellent, the prices are more than fair, and the team's dedication is second to...
