This is not just a pizza joint!! I happened by this place by accident while on business at a plant in Towanda. Perhaps the happiest mistake of my life! They have a dining room adjacent to the pizza shop and serve a full menu of delicious, homemade traditional Italian American food. Also have basic burgers and such on the menu. The food is top notch (can't speak to the pizza or burgers, but their pasta dishes and garlic knots are great - and if you notice this sort of thing, they also use quality olive oil, which took me completely by surprise for such a small place). The best part about Vincent's however, is not the food but the service. We were brought our meal in courses, each course was appropriately sized (the salad wasn't meant to fill you up - just enough in a smaller bowl, but the main course large enough to loose your belt), and the dishes promptly removed once we finished. While our water glasses were plastic, our server (Ashley - thank you Ashley, you were great!) brought them out with only ice in them, and poured bottled water in before handing them to us - I'm not drinking chlorinated tap water, and here's proof! A great first impression. The old man himself (his son is now the owner) was there with his wife, he held the door for us on our way out and asked how our meal was, then she told us good night. Towanda is a small town hours away, mostly industry, but I'm already planning a camping trip there (beautiful area!), mostly as an excuse to eat at Vincent's again!!!
Tldr; EAT DINNER HERE!! Great food, incredible atmosphere, and outstanding service! ( At ~$16/ plate.) This place may...
Read moreWe were on our way back to our Airbnb from a day trip to Montour Falls and love trying pizza from different areas. We researched a few in the area and decided to give Vincent’s a try, based on their reviews and great prices. We got 3 large 16” pizzas - 1 cheese, 1 pepperoni, and 1 with sausage and mushroom - along with a dozen wings and mozzarella sticks. When we got there we were told that to use a credit card you must take money out of the ATM. Not a big deal, but if food trucks in the middle of nowhere accept credit cards, I’d say it’s time to look into that. Regardless, when that’s what needs to happen, it’s nice to know the total so you know how much to get out. The (not so) gentleman behind the counter ignored the question twice before rudely saying “you’ll need to wait a minute, sweetheart.” Then he told us the total: $81.00!!!! HUH?!?!
The base price of a large 16” is $13.50 and every additional topping is $2.00. Multiply that by the 3 pizzas we got with a total of 3 toppings and that’s $46.50. Mozzarella sticks are $5.50 and a dozen wings is $8.95. For all those math fans out there, that equals $60.95. When asked to explain why the total was so much, he rudely rattled off a bunch of things and more or less hurried us out the door. The pizza and toppings were lackluster, and the wings were dry, and the guy behind the counter apparently just makes up prices if you ask too many questions. This place deserves zero stars and we deserve...
Read moreNever would have guest how amazing the dinner menu is here. Used this place as a quick grab for lunch for several years assuming and using it as a typical pizza joint. Sat in the dining area with a group of out of town guests on their first night here. Everyone was blown away by the plethora of options and the very unique to this town creative and robust Italian dishes. First thoughts on the prices were a little steep for this area, but that changed when the waitress set the plates before us. The quality and amount of food is outstanding - so much so that my guests insisted on going back the next night so they could sample more.
One guest found the discovery of pumpkin cheese cake on the desert menu so satisfying that she now believes there is an unimaginable amount of goodness and happiness throughout the world, and I am just over the line of joking - that's how much she loved it.
My only regret is not realizing I could have ordered a glass of wine to compliment the meals until half way through the second...
