We went to a wedding here recently. First, the area for the outdoor wedding was just okay. It was an incredibly long walk from across the street for the elderly attendees. For some it was too far and they could not make the walk so they didn't see the ceremony. The father of the groom, built and brought a wooden backdrop with flowers for the bride and groom to stand in front of. If they had chosen not to do that, basically your wedding venue would be out in the middle of the woods, with a bunch of dead ash trees and croaking frogs. The six rows of old church pews was cool, but be aware the rest of the seating is sitting on roughly cut logs made into seating. The party planner for the venue decided for whatever reason to take off and leave everything in the hands of the few employees. The girls at the ice cream shop... we cannot say enough as they were friendly and amazing. Several guests did not have awesome interactions with others who were working the event. The only two garbage receptacles were these 2 large wooden flower planters near the front door. When some of the guests asked for garbage bags to clean up the catering dinner plates, helping the catering staff out, the staff acted like it was a major inconvenience to get them. A guest wanted coffee, and was directed to the ice cream shop. She ended up putting ice cream in her coffee because the creamer was expired. Finally, talk about HOT. There was no air conditioning or even fans in the ceiling to move the air, and they just had a big fan near one of the end doors. Guests propped open doors on both sides of the venue or went outside to stand and sit. Not a lot of people came in to dance until the sun went down and it was a little cooler. There was also no air up where the girls got ready for their most important day. They were sweltering during hair and makeup prior to the ceremony. We are glad the bride and groom had a good time because that is really all that is important. However, I will never suggest this as a venue unless it is much cooler like a fall or winter event and one would get in writing that the party planner for the venue would absolutely be there. Also keep in mind the age of the people you are inviting if you plan to use the ceremony area across the street. I was told the venue was extremely pricey. Kind of a let down for that amount of hard earned money. We are thankful that the outside caterer, dj, and others not associated with this venue truly made the day special for this...
Read moreI just recently got married at The Lockstone on July 12th. The Lockstones building itself is beautiful as there is a lot of character/ charm within the space. However we were not informed of many important details such as how much space the place can hold inside and out. We had a hard time with the parking situation along with not having tables to seat 205 people. after we were told time after time we would have no problem seating 205 people. We ended up bringing 5 of our own tables and luckily the venue did have enough chairs. I believe there was a bit of false advertisement in terms of seating up to 300 people when that would easily take up the dance floor for a wedding. They do not provide any garbage disposal that is something we were told to take at the end of the night which luckily our catering staff helped us out when taking all of our dinner garbage. The Lockstone allowed us to leave the little garbage we had from dessert with them. There was no AC which was a huge issue as you can image 205 people sweating in July heat. I will say The Lockstone was very affordable and overall I LOVED my wedding day but I would unfortunately not recommend this venue to friends or...
Read moreI was recently a bridesmaid in a wedding at the Lockstone. The bride and groom had an amazing wedding regardless but i was a little disappointed by how chaotic things were. I watched the mother of the groom and bride, along with guests move seating for themselves after being told that the staff would take care of it. There was also no AC and many guests had to keep going outside to cool off. The bride was dripping sweat in the bridal suite after getting hair and makeup done. The bride and groom had to ask friends and family if they could take garbage home with them because of there being no option for garbage disposal on site. The venue itself is still beautiful and the staff was extremely friendly. All of the girls behind the bar had conversations with all of the guests and were very nice. The staff throughout the day was great as well, asking if we needed any help setting things up. Overall we still made the best of it and it was an amazing night, just disappointed by how some things were managed...
