I really wanted to have a great experience here! I was thrilled and intrigued when I received the flyer in mail. I checked it out online and read the reviews. Despite some not so great reviews, we tried it out anyways. Unfortunately , we had a rough experience. For starters, it was taco Tuesday! Or so it said online. When we got there it was not busy but the waitress/bar tender was clearly flustered and crashing prior to our arrival, poor girl. She was VERY nice and VERY pleasant, I will not take that away from her. However, she really made a bunch of mistakes. We started out asking if there was prime rib. She didn't know and had to go ask the kitchen 10 minutes and 15 other tasks later she returned to say, no prime rib. I asked where are the tacos on the menu, to this I was told they are not advertised though they do have them. That makes zero sense! She finally took our drink order, 2 frozen margaritas. 10 minutes later, we received 2 on the rocks, no salted rim. They tasted horrible. I think she used a sour mix instead of a margarita mix because these were literally undrinkable. It took her about 15-20 to come back (after being flagged down)and check to see if we were ready to order, we inform her of our drink situation and she happily gets the new order and apologized. The new drinks take about 15 mins, a new bar tender arrived finally to help, the pina colada was AMAZING!!!! Best I've ever had!!!! It took quite along time for our orders to come and we had our 18 month old with us and he was losing patience. Finally after over an hour of waiting for our food, it arrives at our table. My father and I both ordered burgers medium rare, they were WELL done and super dry. Flavor was ok, but hard to choke down. The Mac and cheese was INCREDIBLE!!!! The $3.50 ear if corn was ridiculous. It was obviously reheated or way too over cooked. I asked for it plain but it came with some salty buttery Herby stuff on it that made it worse. I just threw money away because it was completely inedible. My mom ordered a steak with a side of mashed potatoes. She said her steak was perfect but the potatoes were cold and dry. Husband LOVED his beef on weck!!!! All in all, we spent a lot of money and time here and left feeling defeated. This place has the potential to be great! Not sure where the underlying issues are but I hope they figure it out cause I want that pina colada and Mac and cheese again but can't stand the thought of going thru that...

39 Problems.. and good food aint one.

We work for a local business in the area and were so excited when 39 problems showed up in Albion because it gave us a little change to our lunch options.

We were really disappointed when we ordered. First, it took over an hour, which when you order at 11am you don't expect. Additionally, when the food arrived it was not accompanied by any silverware or napkins. We had to call and they had to come back with it. It didn't take that long, but we were a little depressed watching our food slowly get colder while we waited for silverware.

On to the food itself. I ordered a baked pasta dish. The pasta was SO overdone, I couldn't even keep it on the fork. Everytime I tried to take a bite it just broke apart and slithered off my fork. When I finally did get a bite into my hungry mouth, it tasted like pasta mush covered in jarred sauce. I think I even said, "this reminds me of buffet food"... not really a compliment.

The salad was salad. I mean, how do you screw up lettuce?

My coworker ordered chicken and bacon mac and cheese. When he received it we found maybe four specks of bacon. The cheese was so thick and stringy (not like a cheese sauce, more like melted cheese thrown on top of overcooked pasta) that when he pulled out a piece of chicken it came out bare, with no cheese or sauce on it.

We both got breadsticks with our orders. Mine was VASTLY over done, even burnt. His looked like it hadn't even seen the inside of an oven.

I ordered a peanut butter pie which I didn;t have silverware for because they only brought us two sets so I had to take my saucy pasta fork, wash it off and use it for my pie. No big deal in the big picture I guess, but if you're looking to up the ante as their website claims they are doing, the details matter.

I spent $15 for a lunch that I didn't even eat. Very disappointed. Will not be going back, ever. I can get a decent burger at the Village House for half of what I paid and be happy with...

I want so bad to give y'all 5 stars! So I'm hoping when I come back home in June I will be able to. I was just home for a long weekend and came in Saturday night for dinner, looking forward to having the shrimp and grits. I am kinda spoiled with my shrimp and grits as my mother, who was known by many for her great cooking, was born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi, where I also spent a good part of my life, and her parents were from New Orleans. So I was excited to see the dish as a special this week. It was pretty flavorful, but the itsy bitsy possibly canned shrimp (I've never seen frozen or fresh shrimp that small).were disappointing...(I had just had huge delicious grilled shrimp at Mariachi the night before so it's not impossible to get decent shrimp here) and the grits could definitely have been creamier...also the dish was not served very hot, in fact more like luke warm. It was also pretty cold in there, and the acoustics are not very good...understandably as it is an old building, but there were a few very loud patrons at the bar, which is the same room you are dining in. Last criticism is they did not have fresh ground pepper...when you are serving the kind of food that's on the menu, a pepper mill is a must!! Every good restaurant should have one ☺ That being said, the salad and cocktails were great, the service was very good, and the renovations to the place are amazing! I'm really excited for this new restaurant in my hometown and I hope they have a very successful future! I will definitely be back in June when I come home...

This hidden Gem is amazing I just hope they can make it in Albion local politics allowing closed door club's open to the public so they don't have to follow the rules like other restaurants and there's 8 in the town. If not for a few rude customers my experience would have been perfect. I wanted to try this place before COVID and now they have new owners and I did talk to him in length he is a true Gentleman my waitress was Elissa I did come to see a friend that used to work down the road from me because she was always kind to me the old fart🤣 but she was not there I still had a great time...

We stopped in for a late lunch on 2/1/23 with an hour and a half to kill while our ewok was getting groomed. The lady bartending was very warm and friendly taking great care of us during our visit. The owner Randy stopped in and is a great guy. Randy is doing a great job with this establishment and has some nice plans going forward! We had chicken wings and a couple beers for lunch. Wings were good and the beers were cold, perfect. We look forward to coming back and trying more on the menu!
