The park itself has a nice wide meadow full of wild flowers, enough benches, and the river seemed clean and beautiful.
But that's not exactly the route I took. It might depending on which part you entered from, but when you reach the first bridge across the river, if you don't cross it and instead go toward the edge right through one end of the meadow, there's a little trail which I believe was called Ellicott Creek. You can walk right alongside the river through dense woods; beautiful yellow flowers dotted along the bank of the river. Amazing view. If I got this right, you can also obtain a fishing license to do some fishing there. Seen quite a number of folks doing exactly that. Out of that trail, if you walk up a little further, there's Glen Park literally a few steps far away which has a nice little waterfall. It is a good place to...
Read morebeen coming here for almost 18 years with my dog, Buddy :) it's his favorite place in the world ;) I'm shocked at the amount of people that come here now.. it used to be so quiet here, now there's always people! thankfully it is big enough if you want a little space :) tho, I don't like the new bright lights at night along the edge of the park. not good for wildlife, especially fireflies, and gets animals used to artificial light which can cause all sorts of issues.. the ones along the park should have been motion activated. Former apple orchard (?) that's now all roughly-mown lawn with a few scraggly old apples trees interspersed, clinging on to life, refusing to die, with only a few crabapple-like apples, good for whipping at your fellow-middle-schoolers in 1973. Follow the old "road" to a big bridge over a very shallow creek, four inches deep, good for splashing your parents. Keep going. An old tiny shed/building as I recall, perfect for graffiti ("Zeppelin Rules!"). Keep going, end up at the nursing home on on Reist (?) St. Turn around, go back, get your Mom to take you to Sweet Jenny's...
