So , this review is unusual as I've have had Korean food once in Ballymena,County Atrium Ireland or UK ,and it was not good .So , when I visited my mom's two days ago and proceeded to take out her orders I was hesitant .Until , I first saw the chic noodle soup And the long homemade noodles , the broth was amazing .the entree had at least 6 extras that you can add as you like , pickled cucumbers, broccoli on grill , beets marinated , all of them had us cheating and eating them by hand B4 adding to the beef and rice , you don't get an American quantity of meat , you get the Korean balanced amount with the dish and extras your eating ,it's a good lesson in how we should eat everything . I ate that meal for 3 days for lunch , and it was fantastic everytime , the textures are what overwhelmed me , crunchiness of sprouts ,so fresh and cooked so differently . I've had an Asian experience like this one time and unfortunately it was a Chinese restaurant , because I've spent 20 years trying to get another main entree where the cook is cooking because he enjoys it and also has the talent to add to dishes . 99% of the Chinese restaurants in Buffalo are bad , but we're too ignorant to even know and rebel against them . So , I'm giving my allegiance to Korean food now and a new quest to discover more of them and...
Read moreTucked into a small plaza with several other delicious-sounding restaurants, I’m glad my wife discovered this one.
She’s Korean-American herself, regularly gets cravings for Korean food, and often laments the difficulty of finding good Korean food in WNY.
We lived in Los Angeles for a few years, where there is no shortage of great Korean BBQ, the most low-key underrated niche of BBQ all in America.
My wife is a huge fan of bibimbap in particular. In LA, there was a sort of “fast food” Korean restaurant called BibiGo that would serve bibimbap and it was good enough to satisfy her occasional cravings.
She tried the bibimbap at Woo Chon, of course, and it blew BibiGo’s out of the water (as it should).
As for me, I was torn between bibimbap and Korean BBQ… I ended up settling for Bulgogi Dolsot, which is sort of a happy medium.
It was delicious. Their sides and portion sizes were perfect.
The staff were also extraordinarily kind and accommodating as well.
My wife brought her adoptive parents, who are Italian and Irish and have little experience with authentic Asian cuisine. They loved it too and are looking forward to “next time.”
Very happy to have discovered this place....
Read moreMe and my friend went for BBQ last Saturday. Two of us ordered Combo BBQ and Kimchi jeon. Sadly, they didn't serve any alcohol nor accepted BYOB, so we were initially disappointed. However, the disappointment didn't stop there. Combo BBQ has 4 different types of marinated meat. So, as you BBQ on the table grill, the grill gets lot of burnt sauce stuck onto it, making smokes and destroying the taste of BBQ. After finishing 2 different types, I started to taste too much of those burnt sauces, so asked to change grill. However, they refused to change grill at all cost, and they said they never offer such service. I asked them how are we supposed to BBQ 4 different types of marinated meat on one pan, but they just left shrugging. So, we had to finish rest of our BBQ with burnt sauces all over giving soot-like taste. Furthermore, the servers didn't come for 30 minutes, so we had to wait to get some side dishes and water filled up. I cannot believe they are so rude and careless to customers who are willing to spend more than usual (combo BBQ was 50 and pajeon was 16?. We were gonna order alcohol, so we were expecting bills to range anywhere from 100 to 150.). DO...
