Read moreI’ve been a customer of the North Babylon location of Extra Space Storage (which had changed its name for a period to Life Storage) since July 2021, and it has provided me with an excellent way to safely store my household items. During this time, I’ve had contacts with several managers and staff members, and each has been very helpful, friendly, and customer focused. (Two standouts have been a previous manager, Evelyn, and the current manager, Judd). On the few occasions I’ve needed to speak with someone in the office, I am immediately recognized as a customer of theirs and known by name. In one instance a few months ago, I was alone to meet a buyer for an item I was selling from my storage unit. I first said a quick hello to Judd, and he made a point to keep an eye out for my safety! I recently needed to explore options and costs for changing the size unit I needed, and Judd went out of his way to help me throughout that process. He is a rarity in the retail business: genuinely friendly, patient, informative, and professional, and as a result, I felt prioritized and appreciated as a customer. I was always impressed with how clean and safe the facility felt, no matter what time or day I went there. I needed to change units now to save money & actually looked into another location closer to my apartment. However, I came back to the Deer Park facility even though it is a little farther from home because the contrast felt so strong in terms of cleanliness and a feeling of comfortability. I also cannot say enough about the manager, Jud, who worked with me to find another suitable affordable unit. I likely drove him crazy with multiple calls about various options, but he was always helful and patient! He sets a high standard in terms of customer service & quality for this facility. If managers are reading this - give the man a raise! He represents your company well. (And no - no bribes were received for this comment. LOLOL.
