Strega Rose Tattoo Arts — Attraction in Town of Babylon

I had initially posted this review in November of 2022. I am editing it now, leaving it at 5 stars but for a completely different reason. When I started going to Strega Rose, I was following someone who had just started piercing there, as a client. A couple months after this person started there, they stopped answering my messages for a couple weeks and then told me they had had a “falling out” with the shop, and that the shop has kept all of the jewelry they had stocked. One of those pieces was something we had custom ordered for me, and I had put a deposit on. Obviously I was upset, and wanted to come to the shop and demand the jewelry I had partially paid for. I never got around to it until today (July 2023), and found out it was a completely different story than what I was told. The story itself not relevant, however the piercer painted Strega Rose in a bad light and upon talking to Shane today I want to clear up that there was no reason for the unprofessionalism and negativity about Strega Rose from the piercer. Shane and the woman who was there (I didn’t catch her name) are determined to make right what was never something they should be faulted for in the first place and I felt my review should reflect the shop, not someone who did a short stint there. Although I can’t speak to getting tattooed by Shane, he worked something out with me about my deposit, which is something I never would have asked nor expected of him. I’m so grateful he was willing to hear me out, set the story straight and wanted to fix a situation that I believe isn’t his responsibility to fix.

Some positives from my initial review that I’d like to leave are that the shop truly is gorgeous, yet still clean and sterile. They always have water and seltzer on hand. I have to share my experience with Shane, who have the honor getting a tattoo from.

From the start of the consultation, Shane is a master of his craft. I had all these ideas in my head with no real picture, and Shane was able to give me all the direction and bring my ideas to life. The tattoo I wanted is very meaningful to me due to my mental health struggles and he just made everything very comfortable. He takes the time to explain everything with you, his vision, the set up, etc:

I booked my appointment immediately after the consult and just got my first session done with him yesterday. 5 hours flew by because my artist and environment was a prime condition. Shane makes sure you are comfortable, if you need a break, if you need something to drink, plays any music you’d like, etc. The amount of work he was able to complete in 5 hours is incredible. He explained the aftercare process and steps that I never had any previous artists take the time to do.

The shop is beautiful, clean, comforting, and his other staff member Stacie is very kind and lovely.

Where do I even begin? I met Shane at a mystical craft fair and was instantly drawn to his energy. I received a quick reading there and it was incredible. Fast forward a few months later and I contacted Shane again for another reading to connect with my mom that passed. He mentioned things in this reading about our relationship I’ve never told anyone outside of my immediate circle. The energy he brings fourth to be able to connect me with my loved ones that have passed is truly amazing. Within the reading there was so much validation, healing and vulnerability - talking and connecting about things through him to get to my mom, that I needed to hear for a very, very long time. Everything I’ve been experiencing in my personal life lately was touched on and there’s no way that anyone but my mom would know the extent of how things are.
