Store told me they don't carry matches and claimed I was looking for something for free. Pretty rude and entitled experience I had here. Literally any gas station or convenience store i know carries matches and gives them free of charge as an act of good faith. Seemed like a nice store on the inside with a good selection and close to my job, but I will not be purchasing any cigars from here if needed in the future due to the attitude I received here. Shame and unfortunate they lost all potential future business from this customer. Hope they value potential customers better in the future and accept this critical feedback as a learning experience on how not to treat people.
Edit: Reduced to 1 star for being complete liars. I did not argue for any extended period of time, after I had a short conversation with your clerk, you claimed "We don't have matches here" to which I replied and asked "You're a cigar shop doesn't carry matches?", which I believe is a valid question from a customer that you completely ignored and walked away from. I'd consider getting off the high horse attitude of cigars cigarettes as they are just another tobacco product to which I indulge in as well. If you had matches for sale I would've purchased them, but you claimed otherwise and that you also "don't giveaway free stuff" which is completely understandable if not used as a supposed attempt to be rude or insult me. And yes, I am met with more kindness at any gas station or stores that were listed. Even the Chinese food place next door was kind enough to let me borrow a light to which I promptly returned. I will pray for you and your business and hope that in the future you will treat future customers and strangers with kindness and respect even if you think they may not deserve it. Happy...
Read moreMy husband and I have been going here for the past 7 years and unless we are traveling and not on Long Island, we are VCH loyalists and never go anywhere else. The selection is large and incredible as is the entire staff. This place was amazing when they were behind Main Street but they somehow found a way to top amazing with their new lounge on Waverly. The parking is fantastic and it is truly a state of the art facility. Even when packed out with people smoking, the fans are superb and it never even smells like smoke! The lounge is incredibly clean and classy. Miguel, Josephine, and Judy never stop striving for more greatness and it shows. It's been such a privilege to watch the neverending level ups of VCH!
We also booked a cigar rolling table for our beach wedding in June 2019 and it was a major hit! All of our guests kept raving about it. The gentleman rolling the cigars are incredibly skilled and professional. Miguel and Judy helped us pick personalized bands for the cigars too. Even over 5 years later it is still the highlight of our wedding to us! Anytime someone reminisces on our wedding day they immediately mention the cigar rolling table! (Even with a table for freshly shucked oysters and clams, the VCH table is the winner!)
VCH is truly the best on Long Island and is actually the best cigar facility I've been to in the country. Anytime I travel out of state for work or pleasure I check out cigar lounges and stores and have yet to find a place that tops VCH. Probably because...

Some places serve cigars. This one serves clarity.
Village Cigar Headquarters isn’t a lounge—it’s a tactical retreat. A place where conviction exhales and legacy inhales. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere shifts. The seating is intentional, the cigar selection vast, and the monitors keep you locked into sports, local updates, and global events. It’s not a pastime—it’s a ritual. A social equalizer where titles dissolve and truth rises.
This is where men of discipline gather—not to escape, but to recalibrate. Whether you're a veteran, a first responder, or a man writing doctrine for his grandson, this place speaks your language. Every draw is a reminder that silence can speak and presence can preach.
Miguel Baez doesn’t just own the place—he invests in it. His sweat equity is visible in every detail, and his staff reflects that same standard. Knowledgeable, respectful, and always ready to elevate the experience. You don’t just feel welcome—you feel understood.
To Miguel and the entire Village Cigar team: thank you. For creating a space where legacy isn’t just talked about—it’s lived. For honoring the craft, the culture, and the clarity that comes with every cigar. You’ve built more than a business. You’ve built a sanctuary.
Maybe we’ve shared a smoke before. Maybe we will. Either way, this place tells the...
