Husband and I got a guided tour( an absolute steal at $5 per person) of the mansion, spent a long time exploring the gardens, the "Dark Aisle" of 150+ yr old pine trees, the horse carriage exhibit and gazing with wonder at the spectacular view of the lake from front lawn. We love history and tour a lot of historic sites but this place is extraordinary- everything( except 1 piano) in the house is original to the people who lived there. To have such a comprehensive collection of family possessions displayed was very powerful and gave us a real appreciation for the people who called this magnificent place home. Added bonus, and our favorite part of today's visit, was that our tour guide is a descendent of a family who worked there- what an amazing family legacy. Highly recommend that everyone visit here!

I grew up in Caz, and visited Lorenzo many times with my family and for school trips as well. I was finally able to show my wife around. The grounds are beautiful as always, and a walk through the well kept paths and trails is a great way to relax. They’re currently doing maintenance on the front steps of the main house, and the building is closed, but it’s still a great place full of history to visit.

Beautiful home with a lot of history covering the owner John Lincklaen - an agent of Holland Land Company and the founder of Cazenovia. Our guide was very knowlegeable, the home was filled with so many wonderful pieces of yesteryear. The gardens were in bloom and we were lucky they were open that day and there were several tour group on site. I'd love to wander through during the Christmas season.

Being direct descendents and to have stayed there when my great grandfather George Strawbridge Ledyard Jr lived in the home it was a magical week bringing my grandchildren there to witness their heritage. I have to thank the staff for making our visit feel like we "came home". My grandchildren Ayden 15, and Olivia 7 were enthralled by it all. Watching them play on the grounds and gardens and they loved the Dark Isle, was like seeing myself and my siblings playing as children there. My gratitude for all the workers that keep the houses and grounds impeccably manicured. It's really like it stands still in time for the world to appreciate it's splendour as my family had for many many many generations. Simply wonderful. I'm sure my grandkids will bring their children and future generations back...

Visited Lorenzo this weekend and were given a very nice tour of the home by our tour guide Charlie. The inside of the home is beautiful and the view of the lake from the front porch is enviable. The previous homeowners' history was a little hard to follow, it seems every generation's missus was a Helen. This house has interesting stories of the things they did to improve it over the years. I appreciated that the history of the people who were enslaved on this site were mentioned...
