Lakeland Park Pier — Attraction in Town of Cazenovia

Awesome, and as many have pointed out, very well maintained park. The locker rooms / bathrooms are always in good condition for a public park.

The issue I have with Lakeland Park is with the lifeguards. Cazenovia seems to have gone (understandably) with an entire high school-staffed lifeguarding team. Despite there usually being several lifeguards on staff, the past several times I've visited to swim at the park, it feels like I'm inconveniencing them by being there. They have a tendency to congregate together away from any of the actual lifeguarding stands, and will only come over to work if directly prompted. At the very least, just have one of the guards posted by the actual stand, and let the others congregate if they really don't...

A small village park located on the edge of the village of Cazenovia, it's perfect to walk to for young and old alike. There is a parking area with 2 electric hookups for electric cars to recharge while sunbathing or swimming. There are life guards in the summer and swimming and beach areas for very young and advanced swimmers. You can rent kayaks from LLBean in the summer near the beach area. There are doggie bags for waste if you are walking your dog and a few picnic tables. The 4th of July brings out a huge crowd with wonderful fireworks and a live band. Very nice village park. Swimming area with a diving board. Sandy Beach. Plenty of room to throw frisbees, fly kites or play lawn games. Kayak rack and launch area.
