The last few interactions that Iâve had at this establishment have been very triggering and make me feel targeted and treated unfairly compared to other paying customers. The policy is that your dog has to be friendly and socialize. My dog is both of those things however the rule state that no outside toys are allowed, yet the establishment has balls, not enough for all of the dogs, but just a few that they are a hot commodity that all the dogs would want them. My dog loves the balls and we sometimes have seven big dogs twice a size chasing after him to get the ball back from him and he reacts however, my dog ends up always being the singled out, despite the dogs chasing him being aggressive/rough playing. I attended a foam party (that was over capacity, with there being too many humans standing on the green area along with about 30 dogs) It was very overstimulating for both humans and pet. The workers who are normally walking around with spray bottles to monitor dog behaviors werenât doing their jobs. So I took it upon myself to follow my dog around with a spray bottle to correct anything that I thought mightâve been negative because he was being chased constantly by other dogs and in Dog fashion he may react to this. We decided to go inside where he would have less stimulation and there was about five other dogs in there and one guy who worked there possibly because he had a shirt on with the barkology logo on it with two bulldogs and he was playing fetch with them. My dog was chasing this manâs dog and his dog was doing a good job of boxing my dog out so he couldnât get the ball. I asked the guy if my dog was bothering him he said âno my dog loves this and your dog is not getting the ball from mineâ and laughed it off. So I stayed seated because the interaction seemed to be OK. And my dog was in close proximity to me when this happened. Another One of the workers came over and told me to put my dog on a leash. Which I know is not a part of the rules for this company because having a dog on a leash would cause tension with the other dogs that are not on a leash, which is one of their rules. Even the guy with bulldogs and the barkology logo on said the same thing. So I volunteered to leave. I pulled the owner aside to talk to her about the situation because I was feeling hurt and targeted because I've felt singled out in the last couple times Iâve visited, with the other owner's dogs not also being addressed about similar behavior being displayed. I thought I could have a conversation with the owner to explain how I was feeling and instead she got defensive and told me that she saw my dog get aggressive five times and saw me just sitting theyâre not doing anything about it(which is a lie) Yet if that were true, then why wouldnât she have intervened after the first time why was she waited five times for it to happen again if that were accurate. Instead of listening to me, she wanted to be argumentative and told me to name all the other times. So I've recalled them: Today, my friend who came with her dog was charged $16 for the foam party, and I was changed $30 (she is not a member and was also surprised she was charged less). My friend also was confused as to why my dog was asked to be put on a leash because her dog had been chasing every new dog that entered the play area and was barking aggressively at those dogs. My dog has been in the past humped incessantly by another dog and My dog is told to have a break, even though the rules stated if your dog humps they will be asked to leave....that dog/owner were not asked to leave. My dog has been chased constantly by other dogs trying to get balls from him, and staff have not intervened, only if its the other way around. I didn't like that the owner couldn't take the time to listen to me without throwing accusations at me, however, from reading other reviews I can tell accepting accountability, criticism and feedback is not...
Read moreMy dog loves this place. Unfortunately he got bit by another dog and punctured his ear in three places. It looked worse than it was. My dog is fine.
Went back after a week and spoke with one of the owners. Definitely didn't handle it properly and I called her out on her lies. And called another worker out for saying my dog getting bitten was an accident. The same accident doesn't happen multiple times. It's called a pattern. Multiple regulars will confirm this.
We were asked not to come back because she didn't like that I called her a liar and her worker stupid. If the shoes fits...
Yes harsh but sometimes the truth is harsh and I have no problem with that. I'm not here to give out participation trophies.
Update: The owner is now doubling down on lying. Yes, I called her out for being a liar and she didnât like it. Deal with it. Truth hurts sometimes. After calling her a liar I walked away because it was pointless to engage any further. That was when I knew I wouldnât be back. I wasnât going to do a review but when the lies came I felt a duty to other dog owners. I understand she has a business and livelihood to protect but dishonesty wonât get her very far.
Now she adds a new lie that I was told I would have to leave if my dog didnât stop barking. Not once ever for any reason did any worker say we would have to leave for any reason. And I can name a handful of other dogs that have very similar behavior or worse but non threatening. Iâve never seen anyone tell them theyâd have to leave. When any dog barks excessively the workers or dog owners try to redirect the dog which is successful most times. That tactic works very well for my dog as you know we play fetch 90% of the time.
Never once did I say Barkology is unsafe. There are a few dogs that are questionable aggressive but the owners are aware and attentive to this so incidents are unlikely to occur. Thatâs a risk as a dog owner we take.
Never did I say stitches were needed. I did ask Christine when it occurred because she was cleaning the wounds. There was quite a bit of blood. The vet said ears bleed more. It was the vet that said there were three puncture wounds. I thought there was one puncture and the other was a deep scratch. after the vet shaved the hair away it was obvious there were three punctures. The wounds healed nicely which the vet confirmed today. You saw them 7 days later.
I also got confirmation from other regulars about my dogs behavior and the other dog. They confirmed my belief. A regular said they would be pissed off if she said to them what she said to me about if another occurrence happens that my dog canât come back. My dog was not the problem. I like the other dog but the other dogs owner sits on his phone and ignores his dog. I blame the incident on the other dogs owner.
As for staff. Christine is great. The other two dark haired women are nice and good workers. Although I didnât like her saying my dog getting bit was an âaccidentâ when I come to find out itâs not the first time the other dog has bitten other dogs - a regular told me this. The bearded younger guy that wears shorts all the time lacks attentiveness when working. He was there after it happened. He saw my dog and the blood on his ear and his face went pale. his expression completely changed to...
Read moreLet me just start by saying I used to LOVE this place. In my most recent experience, my dog and another dog got into a tiff at the park and I took my dog home on my own accord. I came back about 4-5 days later and upon entering all the dogs bull rushed towards my dog, and my dog got defensive and started barking at all the other dogs, and had to be removed. Which I understand, however, the owner decided to yell at me in front of all her customers and workers saying that my dog is banned and heâs not allowed to come back and how theyâve asked me to leave the park before and how he gets into fight every time here. I was confused and I asked for a print out and record of all the times weâve come here and we have been asked to leave, because this was news to me. I was curious as to why they would sell me a monthly pass for dog that apparently gets kicked out all the time. Thankfully, she did give me a refund on the pass. However, she was extremely rude which in turn pissed me off. Yelling at me in front of all your customers / staff and saying false statements in front of people, in order to belittle me was not appropriate. I wouldâve understood if she asked me to get my dog under control and out into the car, then to come back in to talk about the status of his membership. I would have totally understood, and been happy to cancel his membership for safety purposes.
Later on, I decided to write a review on Facebook about my experience, and I simply narrated the story. The next day I get a Facebook message of somebody whom Iâm assuming is a friend or a family member of the owners saying how he hopes they sue me and I have apparently raised an irate dog. This individual was also calling me names for being upset about having a bad experience completely missing my point of why I was upset. At the end of the conversation he ended up admitting that he understands where Iâm coming from. My argument is that she chose to react in a way that she felt was an accurate representation of her business and her customer service skills, and I simply just decided to write about my experience.
I loved coming here, typically the staff is super nice and my dogs loved it as well. This is something that I have to budget for, and with the extra money that I do have I chose to spend it at their business. But I just got yelled at and belittled In front of all these people at the park. I have two other dogs and I can say unfortunately, I will have to take my business elsewhere. If she had just gone about it in a respectful way, instead of demeaning me I still wouldâve taken my other dogs here no problem. Benefit of the doubt hopefully the owner was having a bad day and I just happened to be there at the wrong time. I hope this is something she...
