Restaurant is beautiful and food from Simply Pierogi and the bakery were delicious and super fresh. But here is what I have a problem with, we wait at the host stand as we originally planned to sit down in their “Sto Lat” restaurant. The host comes over and pretty much keeps saying “well dinner menu won’t start til 5, and we have a fast casual option (simply pierogi) and being extremely pushy about it - it 100% felt like she didn’t want us to sit in their “sto lat” part because we had our 2 children with us.. as she did the same to the family ahead of us. But the people behind us - a couple with no children she asked zero questions, didn’t make a suggestion not to sit or mention the “dinner menu start time and sat them right away. Definitely felt unwelcomed with our kids in that part of the establishment and my husband standing behind me picked up on this as well from hearing the conversation. But it gets worse, Now we’re standing in line for “fast casual” we were practically forced into with a baby and a 7 year old when all we wanted was to sit down and have a served meal and the manager (?) I assume comes over to explain the menu - in the process pulls his mask down to his chin while talking to us at least 6 times in a 2 minute long conversation. You very clearly see I’m clutching a baby in my arms and you have the audacity to pull your mask down?... so rude and unprofessional!!! And please monitor your social distancing in your wait lines - people on TOP of each other everywhere. Lastly, I just want to add you have some of the friendliest girls working behind the bakery counter and they did give our experience a better ending.
Stay away from this place on weekends if you have children, or more importantly actually take this pandemic seriously. I’ve been here on a week day and it’s a totally...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking forward to going there after it had been closed for a week and trying a few of their pastries. When you go inside the bakery, it’s quite impressive. They did a great job with the interior. After looking around and admiring the ambiance, we picked out a few different pastries to try and were anxiously waiting to try them at home with our favorite coffee. Sad to say, we couldn’t have been more disappointed. The apple and cherry turnovers were not anywhere near what you would expect from a high quality bakery. They had a very sticky glaze on them and the dough was not flaky like most good turnovers out there. They were actually kind of on the chewy side. I don’t mind paying a little more money for pastries if they’re good, but a majority of the things we bought, turned out to be a disappointment to say the least. The poppyseed roll was either over baked or stale. It was unbearably dry and hard. On the bright side, the pretzel twist with chocolate and hazelnut was definitely a winner. We should have bought two or three of them. We also bought an apple pastry with a sweet white cream topping. Could do without the topping as it was extremely sweet. But the pastry itself was delicious. We also had an Apple square that had a crumb topping. It was tasty, except we would have enjoyed it a bit more if it had more apples in it and less crumbs. Overall, I guess we’ll just have to chalk this up as a disappointing culinary experience. We truly were hoping that it would be good, and some of it was very good. Unfortunately, not enough to make us want to visit again anytime soon. Sorry, Chrusciki’s. We were so looking forward to enjoying all the goodies, but it just didn’t do it for us. Maybe down the road, we’ll give it another try when the memory of this visit...
Read moreThis is not a from scratch bakery. I ordered a cake for my sons bday and the design was ameture at best. I am extremely disappointed in the final result. I'll post a picture of the cake design I asked for vs. what I got, which is the picture with the green background and happy birthday on it. It's almost laughable, I honestly wish they would have told me they couldn't do it so I could have gone somewhere else. I won't even discuss my full experience because nothing is more disappointing than this horrid cake. Plus, it was just nasty. We had 50 people there and so much un eaten cake we literally had to throw it out. I'm being nice giving them 2 star, because this was just embarrassing!
I'm updating my review to give them 1 star. After being kind when they gave me this hideous cake and didn't have my 24 cupcakes ready. They offered a $60 gift card for ruining my son's 2nd birthday cake. I wasn't expecting a full refund but at the very least a partial because they are lucky that I didn't just refuse it that day and I actually answered my phone and allowed them to bring the cupcakes. To put in perspective how bad this cake was, we had 50 children from ages 2 to 15 at this party, and NO ONE took cake home. We had roughly 80 % of the cake left. Which we threw out because as they cut it, the cake collapsed into itself!! Similar to other pictures shown here ( I really wish I would have read the reviews first). Why would you think I would want a gift card to eat at your establishment if this is what I received ?? I called to share my experience the following day, I was told to send an email, and it took 2 days for someone to contact me. They offered that gift card. When I said "no" she said she would contact the owner and I get back to me. I've never heard...
