Metro Mattress Albany — Attraction in Town of Colonie

Don't buy the Windsor Castle Luxury mattress. We just spent $4000 on a mattress that I can't sleep in. It felt fine in the store. But after 4 or 5 hours my back is killing me. I'm writing this after the second night of sleeping on the floor, because that's more comfortable than that mattress. I wake up around 4 or 5am where I can't take it anymore, move to the couch, and then the floor. We purchased all the pillows and sheets and protection for another $700 so that we could get the 30 day comfort exchange. What wasn't mentioned, is if you buy the most expensive mattress, you do not get any refund for the difference if you decide to go with a lesser mattress. I wish we had tried other mattresses but after we said we liked the Windsor they didn't really offer us to try other mattresses. They start you at the top mattress! If you go there, ask for the lesser mattresses first! They told us how much they love theirs, so I figured this was the best. My mistake. If you plan on doing the comfort exchange, I strongly suggest finding the mattress that is cheapest that you like. You are allowed 1 exchange for a $99 delivery fee, and you need to pay the difference if you upgrade. But when we went back to try other mattresses, the one we liked best was only $2500. I couldn't bring myself to pay $4000 for a $2500 mattress. I'm going to see if my daughter would like to upgrade to a queen mattress and give it to her, and buy another mattress for us. For now, I'm stuck sleeping on the floor.

The thing we hate most about the mattress is the pillow top. The mattress is very uneven. I can't get comfortable in it. Maybe it will break in, but that will require many painful nights sleeping in it.

My husband and I recently purchased a mattress and movable base from the Wolf Road Metro Mattress store and we couldn't be happier with our new ProAdapt King Size mattress. Dom spent about 2 hours with us asking us questions and showing us various mattresses in order to find out the best one for us. Never once did we feel pressured to purchase a mattress, Dom and Paula just professionally and courteously helped us to find that one perfect mattress for us. At the delivery- well we couldn't have asked for a better delivery person than Dwayne! He managed to get up our long country driveway with his truck and then proceeded to take our our old mattress and set up our new one. He was friendly, professional and very polite. He made the delivery experience an enjoyable one. We will definitely be recommending Metro Mattress, and the Wold Road store in Colonie specifically, to all of our friends and family. Paula provided exceptional customer service during my mattress purchase. In an era of mattresses in a box, it is a relief to still be able to physically feel your bed especially with my very bad back. But with COVID restrictions and concerns, I wasn't sure an in store visit would be best. Well, I called her before I moved from downstate and she put me at ease over the phone before I even made my big move to Albany. I called her when I was settled, we arranged a timed appointment due to my personal COVID concerns and to my relief, she was just as conscientious as I was and took every precaution to make me feel safe and comfortable while making such a big purchase.
