At The Pier Arcade — Attraction in Town of Colonie

They have a decent selection of games so I will give them 2 stars. My son really enjoys it there. Having said that...

We recently booked a birthday party for my son. What was to be included was not what we received. When we arrived, the employee working seemed dumbfounded that we were there to set up and said “uh, tables are in the back”. We provided the cake as they informed us that what we paid for included the gaming and the food. The birthday package included 1 hour of free play for all guests, Pac-Man themed decorations, and free tickets for prizes. The greeting should have been the first warning sign. The confused employee was wandering around spraying everything with glass cleaner (to create the illusion of disinfecting). The decorations were generic and the same that probably had been sitting there for weeks and weeks. We asked for forks for the cake and the employee came back after a long search with a package of plastic spoons. When the party began, the game cards didn’t work. None of the kids could play games which wouldn’t be a problem except for the fact that the party was at an arcade and the gaming experience is sort of 100% the point of having it there. After a second employee showed up (late for his shift) I was told that the problem would be fixed. 15 minutes later, the cards were finally working. This is pretty much the last time the employees did anything for us. The tables in the back were set up in front of the restrooms. The restrooms were disgusting and unkempt and other customers kept walking through our party to relieve themselves. The employees never checked in on us, not offering to help do anything at all. They dropped off the pizza and drinks and left. Speaking of the drinks, not only did we not receive the flavors that we had asked for, we received 32oz fountain sodas instead of the 2 liter bottles that we had spoken of. We received no help with set up, serving, or clean up. Nobody checked in on us, nobody offered anything. The two employees working stood at the register area and chatted the entire time. was there today august 18th, i fight broke out and while i tried breaking the kids apart the employee thankful brought my kid into the price zone until security came and took over the situation! i felt bad for the lady working while these two teenage boy brutally fought, one even pulling scissors! she’s was very helpful explaining and setting up my card how everything worked and was very friendly! I used to take my kids here pretty much bi weekly but after my experience the last time I will never return again. There was a newer heavy set white guy wearing a neck sleeve /designed face mask over his mouth and nose working. When I gave him the cash to load the credits onto my child's card ( new card) because we left our usual cards at home. he pocketed half of my money and gave them half of the credits they were...
