Hooters — Restaurant in Town of Colonie

I was the only woman guest in the building. I wasn’t greeted in a timely manor by the staff. While I was patiently waiting to get noticed I observed women bartenders flirting with men at the bar and I had to wait for service because I wasn’t a man they could take money from.

My food which was to go, was thrown into the to go box. My nachos were only chips and chicken that wasn’t even shredded. The chef didn’t know the recipe I’m guessing since I literally only had chips and blocks of chicken! My mini sliders were burnt and tossed into the box and were not even inside the buns. The hamburger buns were on the side and hard as a rock. The wings were fine. To spend $62 in an establishment and the service and food were horrible is disappointing. I got the teaser slider combo with a cost of $15 for 2 chicken tenders and 2 tablespoons of hamburger meat. In this economy that is appalling!!! My tenders that were tossed in honey bbq had a strong stench of old oil. I think it’s time to change the oil inside your fryers.

The most mind boggling part was the woman manager with the black shirt on and glasses was in the kitchen cooking on the line. How could this food creep right past her? Must not have high expectations. The bar is small, and the restaurant was not over crowded or at capacity during this time of service. Do better.

Also, please take allergens more serious. I asked twice to be sure the kitchen knew we had a shellfish allergen. The printed ticket did not state any notes on it that pertained to this. My husband was afraid he was going to die eating every bite but wasn’t wasting $62!!!

I've been there many times over the years, and generally I have had nothing but good food and great service. Every once in awhile I get an order that isn't as good as usual, but not that often. Great wings, sliders, and I love the pretzel bites, among a few other menu items. I can't think of a time where I received bad service either, but I usually sit at the bar and the bartender is always there, even if they are really busy, I get good service. One issue I had was, they must have about 30 tv's in the entire place, and I got rid of my NFL Ticket, so I went there to enjoy the game and grab some food and drinks. I walked in and almost every tv had the same game on it. I sat down at an open table with 3 tv's side by side playing the same game. I asked the waitress if she could get one of them changed to the game I was looking for, and she told me they aren't allowed to change the channels. Really? Does every tv need to be on the same game when others are on? Finally the tv was changed, but it was already into the second quarter of the game I wanted. I will have to go elsewhere to find a place to watch football. Great place, just disappointed in the "sports bar" aspect of it. Denasia was our waitress and barely paid any attention to us until we were trying to get the attention of a different waitress or the manager our food came out wrong and she didn’t bother asking how it was supposed to be before she went back to go get it replaced we came there for drinks and food and only left with half of our food eaten and only one drink because she took so long to get the first one. Our bill came out to $80 because we were charged for things that we didn’t even know we were being charged for. I feel like if you’re gonna charge extra for sauces or for veggies or any type of little sides that’s fine but I think that you should also verbally let somebody know that it’s an extra up charge, she didn’t provide us a good greeting. She did not make sure that we were taken care of. She came over only when she saw us looking for someone all the way on the other side of the bar where we couldn’t find her.
