CountryMax Cortland — Attraction in Town of Cortlandville

Scam Alert: Keep your receipts if you're participating in their dog food program. I've been going there for over 2 1/2 years to buy dog food. I have 2 dogs so I go about every month. I'm sure I've missed a month occasionally traveling, etc. I'm also sure I have WELL over the 12 purchases to get a free bag.

Two visits ago I was told they had 7 purchases in the computer. No way, but it was a young cashier so I inquired again at my next purchase. Same thing: still 7 bags (even though a new one just got added). I explained that the number should be much higher. She was nice but could only suggest coming back when a manager was in. Today I finally had a chance to ask about it. First I was greeted with an "I don't even recognize you" by the woman behind the counter. So from the start its clear they have no interest in helping me or listeningto my concern. The assistant manager chimed in, showed me I had seven bags in the computer, but had no explanation for many missing purchases. He said he had no power to do anything, repeatedly cut me off, and said I should call corporate headquarters.

Hometown businesses wonder why community members stop supporting them and go to big box stores...I don't want to, but if my local store takes an accusatory approach and sends me to corporate that's the end of shopping...

Thought this place might have gotten a little better but apparently same old stuff just a different day. Employees are apparently not trained to fill propane tanks or to be professional to customers. Every employee fills tanks according to different "rules" by weight although they don't tare the scale or account for different weight of tanks, filled by spray out of relief screw or by a chart telling how many gallons should go into a certain size tank . Some employees will be decent if you mention the tank not being filled fully and will top it off correctly but others just get extremely rude , today the guy saw the gallon start count for my 40 pound tank was 69.9 and when he stopped filling my tank at 77.0 (7.1 gallons of a supposed to be 9.6 gallon fill) I politely said are u sure it's full it only took 7.1 gallons he got extremely rude and told me it was his word against mine. I would say if you plan to get filled here then pay attention and know what you are supposed to be getting cause they WILL short you. I will be calling corporate hopefully that will do something but I'm doubtful. If it does I will re review and let...

This is my ferret diesel. he is around three months old. i got him from your country Max store in Cortland. I drove 2 hours to get him. because I've always wanted a cinnamon or light-colored ferret. the Cicero store where I got my other very healthy ferret did not have ferrets in and neither did the other country max around the area. now i understand you guys only have a 5 day guarantee but for the fact of my ferret to have sugar problems and possibly cancer with only being under 3 months of age tells me that this is an issue from a breeder you guys get your ferrets from! i'm pretty sure you guys will not be helping out with anything because like I said you'll have a five-day guarantee which honestly 5 days is not long enough! thank you so much for selling me a sick ferret! what all I want to do was get a friend for my other little guy. this is why I hate buying animals I have looked into rescues but to no luck!
