This theatre is a gem. My father & step mom took me & my best friend to see the Cher truibute show. It was a wonderful experience. The theatre is very unique. 1st before the show they served cheese & crackers & water ( included with your ticket) wine for sale. During intermission they put out cookies. After the show they gave everyone a Dove is cream bar. It was so good & refreshing on a hot summer night. Ok let's be honest, Dove ice cream is good any day of the week & in any season. They have a hotel on the same grounds with I think 11 rooms. Did not go in the hotel but it looked very nice. They have a restaurant that serves a 5 course meal or a 7 course meal paired with different wines. This I'm sure would be a great experience but a little pricey. I believe the 5 course starts @ $158 per person. All the staff at the theatre was very helpful & nice. It appears they have alot of tribute performers. I will definitely be going back in the future. One more thing they do that is nice is they allow you to take photos during 1 song each set. They have the words photo & when it lights up blue you are allowed to take pictures than the rest of the time you get to enjoy the show & not have to watch it thru everyone else's phones. After the show we got to visit & do pictures with Lisa (Cheer) & also was lucky enough to meet & visit with the performer for the next night which was Cat Steven's tribute by Ron Vincent, great guy from Australia. After meeting him & visiting we wish that his show was not sold out because we would of bought tickets & came back the next night for his show. It's only about60-75 minute drive from Madison. Thank you for a...
Read moreThe show we saw tonight was a CSNY tribute band. We came in after dinner, and found ourselves parking across the street. The walk to the building is not bad at all, but if you have someone with mobility issues, please take advantage of the drop off lane right in front of the entrance. As for the venue, it's amazing. It holds a bit over 200, and the seats and rows are clearly marked and laid out well. The seats are comfortable too. The lighting was operated expertly, and the person running those really knew how to manage them, keying on the correct section of the stage with little rehearsal time with this band. For the majority of the show the sound was very good, but a few times it was hard to hear the middle mic. The band consisted of 7 pieces, and each was micd well, for the most part. Sight lines in the theatre are clean, although the rise from front row to back row is just gentle enough that you would not want to be behind a tall individual. The staff was friendly and helpful. It should be noted that many volunteers assist the regular staff, and each person I saw was engaged and performed their duties well. This created a great visiting experience. During the intermission, water is available for free, although a small donation would be accepted. After our show, we were given dove bars...are you kidding? We will be back, and more than once. My only fear is they will become too commercial. It is the very coziness and laid back comfort one feels when visiting that is of fundamental importance. As long as they keep that, they will have success. They found a...
Read moreIt must be my terrible memory is age based, I have been coming to the Belfrey Music Theater for many years and have always thought I had written a review, but lo and behold that was not true. Over the last four to five years, I have had the pleasure of listening to a very wide diversity of music venues at the Belfrey. Never, have I ever been disappointed in either the music itself, or the personal at the theater. From the moment Mary and Mike meet you at the door, you are treated to warm smiles and a heart felt welcome. The very knowledgeable and professional staff help you find your seat and are able to answer any and all questions you may have. Cold bottled water is always available to quench your thirst and now wine is available too. Intermission finds cookies for the hungry soul and you will be leaving with a dove bar in your hand. The music diversity is unimaginable. everything from ABBA to Led Zepplin to Johnny Cash . The seating is limited to 240 seats, and there is not a bad seat in the house. The sound quality is second to none as is the light show and both are handled by true professionals. Check the Belfrey event schedule, order tickets, and enjoy a superb musical experience you will never forget. Trust me, you will keep coming...
