My recent visit to Gabe's was somewhat underwhelming. The store had a distinct warehouse feel, making the shopping experience less inviting. As I navigated through, the shelves appeared disorganized and cluttered, which didn't make for an easy shopping trip. During checkout, I felt almost like part of a herd, funneled through a congested area lined with low-priced, discount items—candy, processed foods, and various other goods that seemed hastily arranged to tempt last-minute impulse buys. Many of the products felt flimsy, leaving me skeptical about their durability and overall quality. Despite these drawbacks, the trip wasn't a total loss. My wife had spotted some plastic Adirondack chairs online, priced attractively low, which was our main reason for visiting. Although Gabe's might offer some good deals, it's not a place I'd frequent unless looking for something specific at a bargain price. The atmosphere just doesn't make for a pleasant shopping day out.
Gabe's is an off-price discount retailer known for offering significant savings on brand-name goods. Originally founded in 1961 as Gabriel Brothers in Morgantown, West Virginia, the store has evolved over the years and is now popularly known as Gabe's. They specialize in offering up to 70% off compared to department store prices across a wide range of products, including fashion, footwear, essentials for the entire family, and home goods (Gabe's).
Gabe's utilizes a unique purchasing strategy that allows them to offer an extensive variety of products at low prices. This includes taking advantage of overstocks, department store cancellations, and end-of-season vendor closeouts. As a result, the inventory is frequently updated, and shoppers can find new arrivals daily.
Additionally, Gabe's has a loyalty program called Unbelievable Rewards, where customers earn points for every purchase, which can then be redeemed for discounts. They also offer a mobile app that simplifies tracking purchases and rewards, using coupons, and locating stores. This location also had an amazon drop box in the back.

Read moreI've had mixed experiences when shopping here, but it's definitely a solid four. Let's face it; when you're shopping at Gabe's, you don't expect boutique service. You expect great prices, a huge selection, and sometimes a bit of a mess. As long as you keep your expectations in check, you will not be disappointed.
One of the things you may not realize is that they have a wheelchair to use in the store if you've got someone with you in need. My 87-year-old mom gets along with a walker most of the time, but this store is pretty big and it's easy to get worn out at that age, so we sometimes use their walker when we are there.
if you're looking for great brands at amazing prices, you've got to check out Gabe's. Even my picky husband was impressed by their really large selection of high-vis jackets and shirts. There's a really great plus-sized section, a huge selection of outerwear, and a lot of really great clothes for kids, men, and ladies. I'm pretty sure the teens/juniors have their own section too.
Some of the brands I've seen if you're looking - NFL (Go Bills!), Guess, Buffalo Outdoors, Ariat, Yellowstone. There are tons of great shoes, too, if you're looking for brand names at cheaper prices.
One tip when shopping here - go when you've got the time to really look. Give yourself a solid 90 minutes if you want to find some fantastic bargains. Then when you're done, walk next door to Ollie's to complete your bargain...
Read moreBeware this store. They do a poor job of marking items. Bought a pair of jeans, and they apparently put the price info on the tag that was not attached to the jeans, but tied on with elastic. They accidentally must of pulled off the tag, when they checked them out or put in the bag at store, because it was not on jeans or in bag when got home. They then proceeded to give me a hard time, because the receipt had more then one pair of jeans on the receipt and apparently no tag in them that identifies the difference in their merchandise, and you can't go get another pair of the same to apparently clarify the cost, because they must just randomly price stuff, and I guess the fact that every single tag was still attached to jeans, but don't identify them. I had to get loud and obnoxious just to get a manager up there, who weirdly enough, could magically return the items then. Isn't funny how sometimes to get proper customer service, you need to make them literally do their job, so you'll leave. This store is kinda dirty, like a flea market, meets a goodwill. Watch what you buy, and be careful, they don't tag their items properly. But, if you feel like finding a tag for 5 bucks and replacing the tag on jeans for higher amounts. Guess you can, because this store is just a disaster and they have no idea what they sell, or how to identify the tags on their...
