Apna Bazar Valley Stream — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

I’ve been shopping at Apna Bazar for a while, but today’s experience was very disappointing. I was standing in line ready to pay when I noticed the cashier wasn’t at the register. I politely asked the hijabi girl, assuming her name is Zarish since the name is on my receipt, nearby if the register was closed, and she snapped back with attitude, saying, “I’m working on the credit card machine,” in a rude tone. I calmly clarified that I was just asking if I should move to another line, and only then did she change her tone after realizing how disrespectful she sounded. When it was finally my turn, she handed me the bag to pack my own groceries, even though I saw her bagging for other customers. The attitude and lack of professionalism were unacceptable. It’s disappointing to see employees treat customers this way. Management really needs to address this and make sure staff are trained to be polite and CONSISTENT...

We visited Apna Bazar on a Saturday morning, around 9:45am. The store has a parking lot in the back, and an entrance in both the front and back of the store. The store was not very busy at that time. Workers were stocking when we arrived. The store has a large variety of items. Some reviews mentioned that the items in the store are expensive, while others mentioned that items were reasonably priced. Truthfully, you need to know what the price of the products are going for at similar stores, in order to determine which products are reasonable or pricey. We did find that some products were cheaper than other stores and some products were similar in price to other stores (in Queens). Overall, the store seems like a good place to find items that you would normally have to travel to Queens to get. I did find that some employees were kind of rude, while others...

BE VERY CAREFUL! MY FAMILS WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN! THEY SWITCH ORGANIC MEAT FOR BAD MEAT WHEN YOU ARE NOT LOOKING. AND THEY ARE NOT SANITARY IN THERE. I THINK THEY WILL BE SHUT DOWN SOON. THEY SWITCH ORGANIC TO REGULAR ON ME. I SAW 3 YELLOW ORGANIC CHICKEN AND TOLD THE GUY TO CUT UP 2 ORGANIC CHICKEN. HE STARTED AND I SAW HE LEFT IT AND WENT TO THE BACK ROOM. I SAW HE CAME BACK WITH TO WHITE CHICKEN CUT IT UP AND SAID HERE IS YOUR CHICKEN.
