I recently HAD to purchase a non-resident E-Z Pass for the Atlantic Beach Bridge. Let me give you some background. Last year, I was able to purchase a NCBA decal sticker for $150.00. It is still on my car. I am a resident of Long Beach. However, my car registration says NJ, as that was where the car was purchased as many people do purchase cars out of state. Fast Forward to this year when the Atlantic Beach Bridge Toll was switching over to E-Z Pass. The sign said and I quote, "RESIDENT E-Z Pass," to purchase online. Well, I am a Long Beach resident as I mentioned. I am recently married in the city of Long Beach. As a result I was denied a RESIDENT E-Z Pass this year. Why? Well, it was explained to me that MTA is responsible for this and that the way the computer system is set up is through your car registration. This is an outrage. I had spoken to many people at the toll booth that were less than courteous to my situation. However, there was one nice blonde woman in charge that heard my story but unfortunately there was nothing she could do. I HAD to pay the $350.00 instead of the $200.00 that is for a RESIDENT pass. A little tip to MTA and Atlantic Beach Bridge for next year, instead of lying to your community and saying this is for RESIDENT holders it should be reworded to REGISTRATION holders because that it what you are holding to. I am very disappointed. I am not sure where this money goes, but I will be sending the same review to...
Read moreThis is the most outrageous theft ever seen since bridge toll in the middle ages in Europe. The company raised prices from 20 dollars for a 20 trip (1 dollar p. trip) pass to 30 dollars and now eliminated the pass altogether raising the effective price to 3 dollars per trip (300% increase! ) for a miniscule bridge. This is a scandal and lawsuits should be opened to sue this cash grab from the public. Avoid taking this bridge...

Twice, I’ve made the mistake of following Google maps to lead me back to the city and encountered that bridge. There are no signs telling you that it’s a CASH ONLY toll bridge, even on Google which I feel is a scam for people who really don’t frequent the area. They also don’t take EZ...
