The only good thing about this salon was the manners of the employee, Jhumki. She was a sweetheart. HOWEVER, they charged $50 to put a simple henna design on my 6 year olds hands. That is TOO much money for henna on top of 2 hands only, ON A CHILD. I will be contacting my bank to get the money back for false advertisement. 2nd of all, I was there before another customer came in, but then that customer left because she wanted jhumki to do her eyebrows and she said sheāll be back in 30 mins. When it was my turn to get henna done, another rude employee kept telling jhumki āsheās gonna be here , you have to do her eyebrows firstā .. WHY? I was there before that customer but since I am desi and her customer was white that rude employee wanted jhumki to do her service first. I see this in a lot of desi salons where they disappoint their own people just to act all great to the non desi customers. Stop trying to prioritize your non desi customers just because someone whose not desi canāt wait. Never coming back here.
REPLY TO OWNER: I called to make a appointment and I was told I can walk in there is no need for appointment, if you know there will be rush then stop telling people itās ok to walk in. As for the henna, $50 for a small design on a 6 year is ridiculous, inflation or not. Anyways, Iāve said what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been going to Beena's for years but I've only been here for eyebrow threading so I cannot speak to the spa services/skin treatments.
The staff is quick and courteous. The place is always neat and clean. You may wait a few minutes during busy times (usually Sat) but never more than 5-10 min. The staff is interchangeable, I can't say to go to one over the other. If you're Uber picky about your brows let them know what you're looking for otherwise it'll be a clean up job. That works for me but I know some folks are particular.
One thing I'll note is that sometimes when you're waiting it's super quiet, no one really talks. Beena is great and welcoming, and is comfortable making conversation but when she's with a client or not there you notice.
There's usually music videos playing (from India I believe), which is nice if you like world music or just exposure to a different culture. The rest of the shop has continuously changed but is now a hair salon in the back left, and a nail salon in the front left. I used the nail salon once but had to wait an hour. The technician didn't speak much english, and my spanish was non existent, so it was quiet.
Overall great place. My only suggestion would be for the staff to get comfortable making small talk...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got my haircut here today and I haven't stopped crying. Worst experience. The lady cut off more than I asked especially in the front my hair is already thin, and now it's thinner. She kept insisting that it's good and exactly what I asked, and asked me to smile at the end. I started crying in the chair! I'm one to keep to myself and not show my emotions, but with something so sensitive like my hair I couldn't keep it in. I know a lot people are particular with their hair so if you care go somewhere else. My hair is the only thing that makes me confident, and to now look in the mirror and see choppy cuts and thin pieces is heartbreaking. When I told her what I wanted for my hair she didn't fully let me finish speaking, and I had to bud into finish. She assumed what I wanted, even after I TOLD HER!!! Their prices are good, but honestly spend the buck and go somewhere else where they'll listen, and not tell you "what you asked for". My hair is so incredibly choppy, and instead of feeling confident leaving salon I feel so...
