I have visited this location several times but I had a particularly pleasant experience on Wednesday, January 21. I had been to 3 locations prior to arriving at this elmont tj maxx--so close to Christmas of course the line was crazy after already waiting 15 minutes in the parking lot for a parking space. -_- After I settled on a gift for my boss, I got to the register tired as hell and ready to be home. I then realized I didn't have a bag and asked the rep ringing me up if it would be tacky to present a gift in a reusable showing bag..."double gift". Teema kindly asked me a few questions about who the gift was for and graciously offered to help me find a gift bag in store. I really couldn't believe it. She came back in what seemed like no time with several options for me even helping to see if the gift would fit. When I tell you I could've cried. I was and am so grateful for her help that evening. It was the longest, roughest day, in an already rough week and that act of kindness helped me so much she has no idea. I hope that the management team takes the time to appreciate these employees who were working that evening and this holiday season because it was crazy in that store and I know how customers can be so I am happy to have people like Teema there to help with a smile...
Read moreIS DECEIVING CUSTOMERS AN ACCEPTABLE PRACTICE WITH T. J. Maxx? We just moved in to the neighborhood from another state and found this store today. Walked in, picked something and joined the line for paying. While doing her work, staff Ashley at counter 5 around 5.43pm asked whether we like to sign up for T J Maxx rewards. I asked her to explain it twice. I asked repeatedly it's "rewards card and not credit card". She explained and affirmed it is rewards and there is no payment as such for a rewards card. I turned to my wife and discussed and we said yes for it. Ashley then collected our information. Then, she asked for social. I was not doubtful as I asked 3 times and confirmed its just rewards card. She took my wife's driver's license too. Then we got suspicious and asked why do you need all these for a rewards card or is it a credit card. She responded "rewards credit..." We felt extremely bad as it is pure cheating. She repeatedly denied it is credit early and after processing says this way!!!! Even after that she was unapologetic and said your credit check didn't go through.... we said don't want a credit card....it was a terrible experience!! T J Maxx must respond whether they train staff to do this way or it came from...
Read moreI have never ever shopped at a T.J.Maxx store before, I went to the one on Hempstead turnpike as it was about to close at 9:30pm. A worker ran to close the door as I was walking in, so I just looked on the blouses and was about to leave the store without a purchase, because I know most people just want to go home after a long day. The ill mannered demon at the door said I should get out because the store was closed, I looked around and there were two ladies at the register checking out. I ask him if that's the way he speaks to customers, he stereotype me because I had an afro and darkness just cannot comprehend light. I even toss him a God bless you as Exited the store. Macy's...
